Which Disney park would you go to?

Disneyland, been there three times. I spent two and a half years in Europe while in the Army. I don't need to go back plus I'm not fond of Parisians. My father and an uncle fought in the Pacific in WWII and I haven't forgiven the Japanese yet, never will. There is no reason to leave the United States. Narrow minded, I guess, but someone has to remember.
Well there's still HKDL. Been our allies in a few wars and they own most of America so....

Considering the fact that the only Disney resort that would be difficult to visit for financial reasons is Tokyo, I would go to both TDL and TDS, especially TDS must be a fascinating, unique experience.

I want to know why the Beach Boys made such a big fuss about California :D

The Beach Boys were generally singing about stuff like this, Laguna Beach, personally one of my favorite Orange County beach towns a short drive from Disneyland.

But I also think the Beach Boys were also singing about the young ladies that hung out at these types of beaches, too.

The climate of SoCal is also a HUGE factor in the culture that leads to the Beach Boys repertoire. You can live outdoors for much of the year and not worry about bugs and humidity and rain or general pestering from Mother Nature. Today, Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM Pacific Time, I've got all the windows and doors open in the house (haven't used the AC or furnace for a couple months now) a few miles from Disneyland at a cloudless, brilliant blue sky with a slight ocean breeze at my place 10 miles inland, and here's what the typical temps are like from Weather.com, with the matching current Walt Disney World weather thrown in there too for comparison.

Saturday, June 18th, 1:00 PM Pacific Time

Anaheim, California
Sunny and 73 Degrees
Humidity: 33%
Real Feel Temp: 73 Degrees
Chance of Rain: 0%

Orlando, Florida
Partly Cloudy and 93 Degrees
Humidity: 62%
Real Feel Temp: 99 Degrees
Chance of Rain: 80%
Thunderstorms expected after 5:00 PM

You'd want to write a song about that too.

I'd love to visit the Disneyland Resort in California, just because it's the original, and because of how much everyone says they love it, but I also want to get to Europe first, specifically Germany. So I'd like to hit up DLP on a potential trip to Germany/Europe.

I agree. I've been to Tokyo Disney several times, but if someone gave me 50K to take a first class trip to any Disney property around the world, I would instantly pick Tokyo again.

However, Tokyo Disneyland is not perfect. There are some thematic and Imagineering decisions in Tokyo there that leave you scratching your head. One of my favorites is the decision to put WDW's version of the Haunted Mansion in Fantasyland, just across from the Pinocchio dark ride and smack dab in front of the old-school 10 elephant Dumbo spinner they still have there to this day. :ROFLOL:

Oh, yeah, and that's Splash Mountain sticking up next door to the Mansion. Dumbo the Flying Elephant at the front steps of a Hudson Valley gothic manor next door to an animated mountain from the Deep South. What's wrong with that picture?

For those of us who only have set foot in WDW, I was wondering if money was no object which would be the other park you would want to visit the most.

I am torn between DL, TDS, and DLP. Of course DL being the original and packed with some of the best attractions. TDS for it's incredible theming and immaculate maintenance. DLP has a slight edge for me since I have never been to Europe and Paris is top of my list.

Which would you choose?

if money was no object I choose all of the above and then shanghai disneyland after it is built

I was supposed to be in Tokyo in the spring but that fell through. Next year is Vegas and Disneyland so maybe Tokyo in 2013.

I visit both Paris and DLP every year. I don't live very far from it. Both Paris and DLP are full of graffiti, of dangerous people, rude behaviour. But I won't let that destroy the magic for me.
I adore Paris - it's filled with many of the friendliest, most polite people anywhere (yes), and I marvel at some of the quality of Paris Disneyland. What that park does well, it does oh so very well...

But what I really dream about is Walt Disney World. And that Floridian '95 degrees with 98 percent humidity' double whammy. Animal Kingdom and those water parks. And my beloved EPCOT.

I suppose we all romanticise that which is far away. ;)

It's important to honor our parents and family for their sacrifices (my grandfather served in WWII, and i have several uncles who fought), but not to the extent of continual bigotry and irrational hatred towards a new generation of people who had nothing to do with any grievances. Over 65 years have passed, it's time to move on like most other people have. Condemning the entire population of a country based off the actions of long-dead dictators is indeed narrow minded. No one deserves that.

On topic- Disneyland. Been to DLP when it was in its prime back in the mid 90's, it was gorgeous. But i long to experience the original. It's said to have some better versions of our cloned attractions as well as exclusives of its own. At the rate gas is though, i'll likely never get to go. I missed a chance to go earlier this year. I was going to take my mom, but she talked me into waiting. Then gas skyrocketed... Oh well, maybe in a few years if gas EVER goes way down (maybe i'll even get to see Cars Land).

So torn between DLP and Tokyo! I suppose, in the end, I'd have to choose DLP. The park looks breathtaking and I think I could survive France moreso than Japan, despite being an absolute Japanophile. Sushi and I do not get along, but pastries and wine... Yum. C:

Agreed. We visited dlp for the first time and it was great. However, my wife and I would still take WDW over it any day of the week.

Well, I am a Disneyland local and I have visited DLP already, so I vote for Tokyo. I hear amazing things about TDS.

From some of the trip reports on here and the pictures with them, TDS looks amazing. Plus I love Japan, such a beautiful country. As for the food, its also really great. But with the nuclear situation, i may have to rethink that for DLP.
