Thanks for your response! I actually knew the Diamondbacks logo, I just forgot to include it in the post. So continuing my sports logo education :) .... "Terps" is college, right? What is the "Brigade"? Is that a minor league team or another college team?

Well, since the husband will not let me go to WDW (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr), we may go to the March on DC on June 11, but we've never been to a march before and it starts at 10AM and we are not very good waker-uppers while on vacation, so maybe we are not good candidates for this. We are not good gays.

Phil wants to go to Niagara Falls (Canada section) but we both need passports, and the passport office is only open until noon in our area on weekends when we could do it. And again, we are not good waker-uppers.

Other ideas that have been discussed are: Pennsylvania wine trail (including Hershey Park), Vegas, Food and Wine at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, St. Thomas, Ogunquit, Maine. Getting Phil to commit to any of these is like asking a cat to eat a plate of broccoli.

In other words, we're not going anywhere. :(

If the only reason for getting a passport is to go to Niagara Falls, Canada save your money and go to the American side. It's a much better view of the Horseshoe falls anyway. The Canadian side, although much more commercialized, doesn't afford the spectacular view of the "big" falls. I think that you can still ride the Maid of the Mist from the American side, I don't remember if that is true or not. Never rode it even though I was stationed in Niagara Falls for about 8 months. If somewhere in the future you think you might want to travel internationally, then by all means get one, but, not just for a days visit to NF.

If considering Niagara Falls on the NY side.....put in a google search engine for: "Cave of the Winds" Google images too. You get up close....get wet...feel the power!
Yes, on the NY/USA side you can take Maid of the Mist and get up close and personal with the Falls.
On the Canadian side the boat company is called : Hornblower.
Same type of experience with both Maid of the Mist and Hornblower.

Phil insists that the Canadian side is better, which is interesting, since he has never been to Canada. ;)

It has more tourist traps, Ripley's, weird museums, etc. but, I don't really think it is better, just way more commercial. The biggy is that the horseshoe falls are on the Canadian side and alas, it cannot be seen in it's complete splendor unless you are viewing it from the American side. The American falls are cluttered with large chunks that has broken off from the falls and takes away a lot of the majesty of the falls. Years ago... 1969, you could walk through caves that are under the horseshoe falls and you come out, like the Jungle Cruise, to see the backside of water, but, real falling water, not piped in. I don't know if that show still exists or not. To me the area resembles every seaside resort you have ever seen anywhere. (or at least it did back then). On the American side you can also get to see Old Fort Niagara and the whirlpool area of the river. I'm not saying that the Canadian side is awful, it surely isn't, and there are more things to do and spend you money on in Canada. I just was never all that impressed by the total commercialism. But, then again, it has been a long time since I was there and perhaps by now the American side has caught up with the crassness.

Isn't cave of the winds on the Canadian side? I don't see how they can do it on the American side since it has a bad habit of breaking off large amounts from time to time.

But my 3 yr wedding anniversary is Aug 2nd, so we're trying to decide between Cancun, San Juan or Jamaica..

Different views from each side. Definitely worth seeing from each vantage point.

Truthfully, for us, two out of every ten viewings would be from the US side, and eight from the Canadian, despite having passports and the ability to cross at will.

I disagree with @Goofyernmost regarding the superior views of the Horseshoe Falls from the US side though. And for sure the American Falls and Bridal Falls are best viewed the Great White North.

We are tentatively planning to visit my MIL et al. in the UK in July. If that can't happen, we're going to WDW. We'll probably end up in Cape May for a few day trips and I'd like to check out the new Museum of the American Revolution in Philly.

@SansSouci or @Sans Souci...I live 1 hour 50 minutes north of Cape May. Have you been there before?
UK has had two incidents that made the news recently.
Any concerns about your potential travel to UK?
