Where is Walt's plane? UPDATE - Coming to D23 2022

I believe somewhere in this thread there are some hints that there was, at one point, a plan to display it at DHS for the 50th.
I thought it was wrapped in its later years and when they moved the plane (I am guessing they had to take the wings off to move it) to its current location, the wrap likely started to come off. So they just removed the rest of it when they put it in storage.

That’s the date the tweet was sent. Doesn’t prove the pictures were taken then.
"Seen on the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World."
Bioreconstruct has a pretty good track record for being reliable.

It's a valuable relic, a historic artifact that deserves to be preserved and made available for public viewing in an enclosed, secure structure with a controlled atmosphere. Wrapped or not how it has been treated is deplorable.

Agree.
This plane needs to be displayed properly and valued instead of hidden away, rusting into the ground in Central Florida.
Get it back on concrete...and in a proper sheltered area.
This is a historically important peice related to WDW and the Disney story.
Is there a reason it has not been sent back to CA and claimed by the Walt Disney Archives?
Surely there is a soundstage, storage building, or other place it can be placed in.
Having it in a place where it could be publically seen would be great...if not WDW, then perhaps the Walt Disney Studios?
Seems a shame to let it sit....ignored.
If today's Disney Company isn't interested in maintaining this artifact it should be sold or donated to a aviation museum.
Lots of museums would be honored to have this in their collection.
Better yet - send it to the Smithsonian.

Mickey Mouse-Inspired Plane Takes to the Brazilian Skies
October 20, 2021
Last week, Azul Linhas Aéreas presented an Airbus A320neo plane inspired by the mouse that started it all. The first of four red- and yellow-colored aircraft inspired by Mickey Mouse was unveiled during a magical event held at the airline’s hangar in Campinas, Sao Paulo.
In true celebratory Disney fashion, Mickey Mouse surprised the audience, along with executives from Azul Linhas Aéreas and Disney, to officially welcome “Mickey Mouse Nas Nuvens,” which translates as “Mickey Mouse in the clouds,” to the airline’s fleet.
Azul will debut three additional Disney character-inspired aircraft in the coming months, operating domestic routes through nearly 50 Brazilian airports.
Here’s a special look at how “Mickey Mouse Nas Nuvens” was created!
The launch of the first plane coincides with The World’s Most Magical Celebration, which began Oct. 1 and will continue for 18 months to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.

That's been like that for nearly 2 years now. Then someone broke into it for YouTube views, then Disney wrapped it up and put a fence around it, and now the wrap fell off.

Doesn't look like the wrap fell off, they definitely removed it. The grass around it was cut as well.

Yes, I’m aware of the timeline for all of that.
They haven’t scrapped it, so there must be future plans for it, was my point.

Put it in the field behind cirque at springs. It’ll add some interest to that end of the promenade and fits the storyline.
Great idea! That whole end seems dead. They were going to put the food trucks there at one point but then that changed. Since then nothing.
