This is shaping up to be a huge week for me.

I joined a gym. I’ve done a couple of cardio workouts on my own, and start with a personal trainer 3x/week effective tomorrow.

I'm going to see a movie at the theatre for the first time since 2019. (New Year’s Eve 2019, but still ….)

Jays return to Canada tomorrow, and our boss gave us his TD Comfort Zone tickets for both Saturday and Sunday. It only took 28 years to get back there, but we’re staying overnight in what used to be called the SkyDome Hotel. (Not a field view room this time, but we’ve got an infinitely better view from the TD Comfort Zone!)

Watching the Jays in 5 minutes and then Jungle Cruise on the big screen at 10:30! 💕💕

Yay! It feels so good to go out and do things again for the first time. Unfortunately, I feel like we're getting ready to go back into our bunkers down here. 😩

We’re only just starting to crawl out for the first time. You guys got parole way earlier. We still have mandatory indoor masks. Those never got dropped.

Our vacc rates are finally something to brag about, so I’m hopeful. 🙏🏻

Our vaccination rates have been pretty stagnant over the past month or two. Some businesses, universities, and agencies are just starting to require vaccines for employment.

You go, girl !!!

P.S.: Canadians doing well at the Olympics. That's something else you can celebrate! :)

As of last night before I went to sleep, we had 11 medals … every single one captured by women. That’s starting to get a lot of traction up here.

Just got back from a whirlwind weekend getaway. I’d say nothing special, but it was a huge deal to us. The Jays finally returned to SkyDome (Rogers Centre 🙄) for the first time in 670 days, and we had front row Clubhouse seats to their second and third games back.

We also stayed at the SkyDome hotel (now a Marriott) for the first time since the first night of our honeymoon, more than 28 years ago.

Jays won both games handily. We were sitting beside an ex-Maple Leaf (current Colorado Avalanche player) Nazem Kadri and got pics. No one else recognized him, so that was cool.

I zipped down to the Main Team Store between innings and ran into my favourite team mascot in the concourse. Mike was annoyed that he didn’t get pics with Ace. You snooze, you lose.

And today’s win completed the sweep. Ace was busy.

Yea! This getaway is right up your alley!! And I think it's so sweet that you stayed in your (honeymoon) hotel, too. ❤️

Nice pictures of the ballpark, and what a treat to meet a sports celebrity (not to mention, the team Mascot, too)! :joyfull: Really happy that you both had such a nice weekend -- you've all been cooped up for so long, so what a nice treat it was to get out and enjoy a pleasant weekend experience.

I was so happy to catch the Women's floor finals today, and was happy for the Italian woman for FINALLY getting an olympic medal! She must be so happy! And the first Japanese woman to medal in floor, so it was a historic day for women's gymnastics! I missed the vault and bar finals, which makes me sad...they aren't really showing gymnastics here. I was lucky enough to be looking up the schedule and see the floor final was happening at that moment and BBC was broadcasting. But I was really happy that the Brazillian woman took gold in vault. She got silver in the all-around and was the first woman from Brazil to medal in artistic gymnastics, so it's really cool that she got a gold medal, too. And I guess Simone Biles confirmed that she WILL compete on beam tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to that.

I just realized I only have two more full weeks of summer break, and most of that time will be spent setting up my classroom. Summer always goes so fast.

i was thinking about how short a time it will be until I go back as well. Our principal had a meeting today for planning but we weren’t going to get paid, so I (and many teachers) didn’t go in. I might go into my classroom for an hour just to make sure my computer is set up and to drop off some things I put aside to take in as I did some cleaning at home.

I'm part of our building's new (unpaid) Leadership Team with our new principal. So we meet for the first time next week. This weekend I'm going to go in and take in all of my personal stuff while nobody is there. I have tons of stuff I wasn't able to use last year due to covid that I need to take back up.

Then I'll probably go back in on Monday to start the classroom setup process. I moved to a new classroom last year, but it's really like I'm starting fresh this year because we couldn't have a normal layout with the social distancing last year. I still haven't heard what the protocols will be this year, but our school is donating all of our old desks to some place in Madison (the old desks were from an outlying school in our district that closed prior to last year). That means we won't even have enough desks to socially distance.

You need to get working on the DL trip report please.
