Yeah, most laptops don't have them anymore. I think most desktops still do. My laptop is probably 5ish years old, and it doesn't have one. At first I thought it'd be a huge issue, but it hasn't been a problem.

Well, I guess then that I am only adapting to technology that works for me. When I first got the car I downloaded my music to the Flash Drive and was using that, but in my car there are only two of those ports one in the front and one in the back seat so it kind of limited how I would connect my phone for Waze. It was either Waze or music and I wanted both.

Doesn’t Waze make music go a bit lower when it’s giving you directions like anything else? That’s what my phone does but I just use Apple Maps. Music plays at whatever volume I have it at then lowers when the gps has to tell me something then back up again.

No it just talks over whatever else is on like music. It doesn't stop it or interrupt at all. That is another technology that I find fascinating. Everything from warnings about police ahead, to stuff on the road, pot holes, etc. or cars stopped on the side of the road it is so incredibly accurate that it is almost scary. It is indeed big brother at it's finest. Not only does it know exactly where you are, it also knows where you are going, how fast your going, what time you will get there and probably knows who you have tied up in your trunk, if you have anybody there.

I know that this type of stuff has been brought up on this thread before, but today as I was looking for some stuff on You Tube I ran across this and figured that @figmentfan423 and others might be interested in seeing our Farmers Market. I don't know what time of day that they took those pictures because I have never been there when those aisles aren't packed with humanity.

I think I shared Pentatonix's The Sound of Silence video before, but I just found a live video of their version of Hallelujah. It's amazing. Sounds just like their recorded version. Their individual talents are so much better than most artists. Putting them together is just incredible. Unbelievable harmonies.



Not sure why I'm getting on a music kick recently...

Kinda makes you wonder how people get legions of fans when singing with autotune.

I really don't think that CD's are obsolete yet, they still have many functions that the little memory card does not do. Even new programs or equipment still need that slot to load many on the machine.

We don't have a desktop. We all have laptops, and when I went to buy mine, I wanted one with a cd drive and they told me that you can't buy them like that here anymore. They'd have to install one, which would then cost extra. And my husband has been trying to cinvince me to get rid of all our CDs because they are obsolete and you can install them on the computer, which is true, but then if your computer crashes, or you get a new one, you have to transfer all those files again, or they are lost, etc. I want my hard copy just in case. He thinks they just take up space.

Yes, my husband bought his laptop before DVDs went out of style and he had them remove that drive from his and add extra memory instead. He got to keep the drive to use externally, which he told me I could use any time and he'd teach me how. When I asked him last night where it was, he said he thought his brother had it. :rolleyes: Then basically told me I don't need it because I can just use the DVD player to watch my DVDs. But I can't do that on my laptop!
