The first time I took the kids there I told them they could each get 5 things. I thought their heads were going to explode. “Five things no matter what they cost?!” Yup. No matter what.
That was the rule for my brother and I as kids, too. We could get 5 things each when we went. Well, at least that's what I remember. It could have only happened a couple times, but my brain only remembers those trips.

We've only had ours here for a couple of years.

Another one of our local stores is celebrating its 40th anniversary, so they had a sale today that anything under $10.00 was 40% off. I got a bunch of stuff for stocking stuffers and spring bulbs. Love these sales!

I get all m greeting cards and gift bags there. I just won't buy food.
We get most of our Christmas wrapping paper there. And it's a elementary teacher's dream store. I spent a half hour walking around our teeny store looking at everything. I grabbed a couple things I probably don't need, but they looked good. Like a couple of small Halloween buckets. What will I use them for? Who knows? But I got them!

Light bulbs and dish soap are also a lot cheaper there, and they are just as good of quality as the Walmart across the street.

Ours has been here for probably close to 10 years... maybe a little less. But before that it was on a super small store on Main Street that is now home to a Jimmy John's. It was very rinky- before, and now it looks like the other store I've seen, only it's smaller to fit our population.

Got back earlier today from a spur of the moment quick trip down to WDW (10/2 - 10/5). More like an appetizer for a bigger, actual vacation planned for this winter. This one was short & sweet. I got to tackle both of the new Pandora attractions without the aid of FP or any booking in advance whatsoever. To avoid any ridicule, I won't disclose exactly how much time I spent waiting in standby lines....but worth every minute. Good, quality time in Pandora, briefly hit some favorites in the other parks (sans the construction zone park, which was the only one I skipped). Got to have a moment of silence in front of Energy, took plenty of Fall decor pictures, etc. Will share pics & videos later.

On Monday (10/02) while heading southbound toward Fla, I spent a good chunk of the day exploring a large, beautiful swamp in south Georgia. Saw a 13 ft, cannibalistic alligator in the wild named "Crazy". Another gator was hanging around a parking area literally feet from where I parked.

Oh, and speaking of wildlife & parking lots, there was a late night prowler I happened to catch on camera Sunday. More on that incident later...

Appetizer vacations are actually full vacations for me. ;) Luckily, I'm happy with 3-5 days for a getaway, once a year. :)

Can't wait to hear all the deets on your adventures. Sounds intriguing . . .
