Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Half hour sitcom review time.

Blackish is sometimes brilliant and achingly on point, and sometimes a total snooze. Yesterday was a total snooze. Your mileage may vary, but as a Canadian, nothing in the first ten minutes resonated with me, so I fast forwarded to ....

The Mayor. I was busy texting with a friend, and Mike had just come home from work, and nobody had eaten yet, and I really didn’t give this a fair shake. I sort of watched it, but only sort of. “Sort of” ... to the extent that I didn’t even recognize Lea Michele. At first blush, it struck me as a regional version of another regional mayor-centric Canadian show called Dan for Mayor. (Fred Ewanuick played the hapless dolt who decides to run for mayor six plus years ago.)

Now, reading the reviews, it sounds like I might have missed the best “new” show debuting this week. I may have to on-demand watch it and give it another shot.

Fresh off the Boat season primiere was entertaining enough, as was BBT.

Bible study tonight, so the most I hope to accomplish is Survivor.

Yesterday . . . saw my first Christmas commercial on TV. No, not Toys R Us, no not Macy's. It was about spending Christmas at WDW with your family. The kids in the commercial's family looked all excited. I was thinking about kids watching this commercial, 4 months prior to Christmas, and begging their parents to take them. No pressure there . . .

I guess with a vacation it makes sense to advertise this far out. You can't wait until after Thanksgiving and expect people to book and plan in less than a month.

From a business/vacation planning point of view, yes. (Guess my heart went out to those families who couldn't afford a vacation for Christmas, and would feel bad if their kids were disappointed.). Glad I don't have any kids! ;)
