I used to make fried chicken livers at home. I'd never do that now. I think those are especially unhealthy.
Yeah...every now and then I'll find myself in a buffet line and I'll ask for "Just One" chicken liver. I love them but I also know how bad they are for you and the servers always oblige as they must know exactly what I'm thinking.

We have a deep fryer. It's in the box in the basement since it doesn't get used that often. When we break it out its for something insanely decadent. Last time we used it we made fried lobster risotto rice balls. We made lobster risotto, let it cool, put a chunk of lobster in a ball of rice, rolled it in egg then panko bread crumbs and fried it. Served it with sauce. Ridiculous.

I'm sure I've eaten liver in my lifetime but not knowingly. We do tasting menus sonetimes and I just eat when they give me. It's blind trust in a chef but I've never been disappointed.

Sounds wonderful...Not very Southern, but still sounds very good!

Now if you said you made it out of crawfish, then it would be southern. :D

I can eat chicken liver, but calf liver makes me gag.

I've tried it many times, thinking that my adult palate has surely changed....NOPE!
