@donaldtoo great news about your brother . I hope he continues to improve. It’s amazing what medical advances have been made .

Thanks so very much…!!! :)
And yes, even though cancer is still a scourge, advancements, as of late, have been very encouraging.
Also, he’s being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. It is consistently ranked as the best/one of the best cancer treatment centers, not only in the country, but the world.
Thanks again for your well-wishes…!!! :)

I went golfing with some friends today. I am not very good. I've been golfing for years, but very casually. Maybe a handful of times a year. I don't practice or really try to get better. It's more a social outing for me. We were playing best ball, and on one hole, I had the best shot every time and got par. That may be the first par I've ever gotten. If not, I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten par.
Not to worry, I have been playing golf for 48 years and am now worse then I was when I started. Like yourself I spent a large part of my life (63 years from birth) in climate unsuitable for golfing at least half the year. After I retired and moved south I had the chance to play year round and slowly started to improve and then absolute old age set in and like Palmer, Nicklaus and many others, I am now back to where I was most of my life, just doing it to be able to say I try to play the game. I have two sons in law and one daughter (who by the way is less skilled at golf than myself) make a hole in one over the last 5 years and, for me, that has constantly not happened. Close once but no cigar.

Sadly for myself, when the gene that makes one athletic was passed out they apparently ran out before they got to me. I was never any good at sports except excelling at consuming a cold beer after the round. That I did just like the rest of the jocks in the room. Keep trying though, golf is the one sport that you can participate in even as you approach 80 years old. You'll have to wait a while for that. In the meantime, just do it for the fun, fresh air and as a social outing. It's just a game, never ruin it by taking it to seriously.
You are good enough to do it professionally and make millions for playing a game. Than take it seriously,

The whole meal was great, but, I hafta’ say, the Beef Wellington was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had anywhere…!!!!!!! :joyfull::hungry::hungry::hungry:
The filet and the pastry were done perfectly, and whatever the dark layer was (I meant to ask, but got distracted and forgot) between the filet and the pastry just added to the amazingness…!!!!! :hungry:

So, good news regarding my next younger bros lung cancer…
He just finished his 3rd round of chemo, and they did some scans…the cancer has not traveled to any other parts of his body, and the tumor is definitely shrinking…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
He’s, obviously, nowhere near outta’ the woods, but things are movin’ in a very positive direction right now…!!!!!
Thanks so very much for any continued prayers…!!! :)
This is good news for your brother, and the family. Modern medicine provides multiple methods to help patients dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Hoping he continues on this path, to continued positive outcomes.

After dinner, and before heading to the next show in the Jubilee Theater, we headed to get some free drinks…!!! :)

IMG_8992.jpeg

Since we’ve been gold cruisers with Carnival, we are entitled to one free drink anywhere on the ship…WOOOHOOOOOOO…!!!!!!! :joyfull:🤣:hilarious:
As y’all know, I don’t normally drink anything even remotely close to “froofy”, but, since it was free, I got the below…!!!

IMG_9009.jpegIMG_9018.jpeg

The drink was tasty enough, but definitely not something I would ever pay for…!!! ;)

Then, it was off to the show…!!! :)
The show was called “A Sinfully Soulbound Soulful Tale”.
Aside from the slightly convoluted title :cyclops:;), it was actually an enjoyable show, that combined dance routines with spooky songs from days gone by…!!! 👻;):)

This weekend, I went a little ways north to watch my friend's son's baseball tournament. He's a former student of mine, and I've become good friends with his whole family. His first game was on Saturday. When we got there, one of my old students saw me and excitedly announced to everyone that I was there. I saw lots of my old students, and it was really fun seeing them all. You essentially turn into a celebrity. After his game on Sunday, a student from last year and her mom came over to say hi. Her mom said it was funny because all the kids over at their diamond were turning to each other and telling each other I was there. She said it was like a little gossip train. 😂

After his game on Saturday, we drove further north to their cabin/lake house. It's actually their parents', but the entire family uses it all the time. It was beautiful. I've heard about the place for years, so it was nice to actually see it. I got a tour of the place, then they took me on an ATV ride around the lake to show me everything. We said I definitely need to go back for a full weekend to do it right.

The baseball team won on Saturday, so the next morning we headed back to the baseball complex for another game. We were winning the whole game, but fell apart a little in the final inning and narrowly lost. It was their last game of the season, so there were a lot of tears from the kids. But it was a good game, and really fun to watch all of them and support my former students.

After the game, we headed over to the nearby Kalahari waterpark in the Dells. We spent the entire afternoon and stayed until they closed. It's a great waterpark, and I had a lot of fun with all of them.
