What boo boo? What did I miss?

Are you okay?
Thank you, I'm doing much better. LSS The boys helped by doing the kitchen floor just before 4th of July, wet spot on floor:cautious: slipped twisted ankle on way down, hit knee and elbow, shoulder twisted in. Ankle and knee much better, only need an ace out and about (hopefully this weekend will be the last of that), which I'm not doing except for food shopping with a pack animal or 2, have to wear a sling for a couple of more weeks while awake. I may have powered through and finished the sides for the 4th of July BBQ:angelic: Probably shouldn't have done that
The boys have stepped up, James has been helping/doing the cooking and canning, other ds helping with house chores, it may take him 4 hours to clean the bathroom, but I haven't had to tell him twice to do things, just have to tell him twice or 3 times how to do things
All things considered not bad as nothing is broken, just sprains and bruises. Sounds worse than it is, dh took me to 2 wine tasting last week for being good:angelic:

Yikes!

Did this get mentioned here? I missed a couple of days a while ago, but I thought I’d caught up.

Maybe I should have, sorry about that. How's Daisy after the pedi? Was that the end of her troubles walking?
Yes, totally the end of it. She’s totally back to being herself.

It’s never happened before, and I assure you, it will never happen again.

Thank you for asking.

I hope you are fully mended soon too!

In other news, my 2-weeks notice wasn’t quite accepted. 🙄

I was asked to stay until August 18th. I put 2 and 2 together in a nanosecond and realized that’s the weekend his daughter is getting married and he doesn’t think he can replace me before then.

I emailed him back, saying that in light of our long friendship that I would not want to do anything that would disrupt such an important family event … but that I needed a couple of outstanding invoices paid. That was more than a week ago. No response to my email. No invoices paid.

This just reinforces my belief that this is not where I want to be.

Are they allowed to refuse to accept the notice? I get that they need someone to do the work, but if they can refuse that, how can anyone ever leave? You shouldn't need permission to quit a job!

Oh I could just not show up after the two weeks. I could just not show up today, if I wanted. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Apparently my contract calls for 30 days notice. Considering they have changed the terms of the contract multiple times, it’s already invalid. (First of all, I’m a licenced agent, so I know a little contract law, but TBH, I mostly know this from Judge Judy - the terms of a written contract can only be changed in writing. Not verbally, and not unilaterally - which is what they’ve already done to the contract.)

I agreed to stay 3+ extra weeks out of the kindness of my heart. Those warm and fuzzy feelings are quickly dissipating though.

I have an answer to that if need be:angelic:

Congrats to your parents on their 65th wedding celebration (o.k., close enough to the actual date). ;)

I'm always in awe of the food spreads your family puts out. No one goes away hungry from those get-togethers! :joyfull:

Thanks very much, Minnie…!!! :)

Yep, as per usual, if anyone goes away hungry it’s their own darn fault…!!! ;)
It was a little simpler this time, as, along with many of the usual sides, we had pre-made sandwiches from Jason’s Deli…ham, turkey, club, roast beef, chicken salad and tuna salad…!!!!! :hungry:

Thanks again, Minnie…!!! :)

I so know how you feel. I’ve been stuck at the same job I’ve had since January 2024 and every time I tried to leave circumstances always ensued to ensure that did not happen. I was convinced things had gotten better and they did for a while. I sent out applications to other places and never heard anything back. I had to stay to pay some bill.

@PUSH , I thought of you with all the ads for Shark Week. I recall some years ago, you got a kick out of watching the Sharknado movies. I chuckled over a few of them as well. :hilarious: Just wondering if you still "observe" Shark Week on Discovery?

Yea, the first coupla’ “Sharknado” movies were actually pretty ridiculously silly-fun, but, beyond those, IMO anyway, they kinda’ “Jumped the shark”…!!! ;)

A hearty congratulations to your parents. 65 years is an amazing feat. They have been truly blessed.

Thank you so much…!!! :)
Blessed indeed, and our whole family has been blessed, pretty much, all the way around, with all that definitely not being lost on us…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

That being said, Mom and Pop (86 and 92, respectively) have really slowed down in about the last 5 years.
As a result, the vast majority of conversations, regarding continued aging and beyond, have been had. Although you can never be completely prepared, we are all about as prepared as is reasonably possible.

Wow, some “friend”. :cyclops:
He could have at least answered you, regardless of his ability to take care of the situation, or not.
Probably already blew the invoice money on the overpriced wedding… :cautious::rolleyes:;)
