I'm officially home! Technically, we got back into town around 6pm, but I just got home because I watched Survivor with my parents. After a long day of travelling, it feels nice to be home. But also, sad because the trip is over. However, I will be in Disney World again in 73 days!

I'll share more about this trip over the next couple of days.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
As of today, we have a new hometown. Worst move ever, but we’re here!

Second night in a row we’ve been up past 4:00. We couldn’t get the beds taken apart in time because the Uhaul had to be back, so we’re sleeping on mattresses on the floor. My brother is coming up with the pickup truck on Friday so he’ll help us move them, and then move the really heavy furniture in from the garage.

It’s going to take a few weeks, but Hallelujah, we’re here. God is good. All the time.

26’er. Piece of cake, he said. I guess all that hauling a 33’ RV came in handy.

I gave you a like, but my brain was screaming “nope”, which is weird because I’m a complete thrill junkie who isn’t afraid of heights.

I’ll post a Wiki page (it’s extensive, and you may not be interested in any of it) below regarding such.
But, modern-day gyroplanes/autogyros/gyrocopters are actually very safe.
They started out safe back in 1918, but were eventually replaced by helicopters. Then, in later years, many started experimenting with them again, and there were issues.
Those issues have since been resolved, by far and away.
One of the original attributes is, It’s impossible to aerodynamically stall a gyroplane, because of the free-spinning rotor that produces the lift. Plus, if the engine that pushes it forward fails, it can easily land safely because of said rotor. I’ve watched videos where pilots purposely cut the motor and landed perfectly.
Anyway, if you’re so inclined, the Wiki page is there, below.

I went on a second flight on my birthday in October of 2017.
The first flight was for a half hour, was pretty much an introduction, and we didn’t fly any higher than about 1,500 ft.
The second flight was for an hour, and I actually got to fly, and do a coupla’ takeoffs and landings…!!! :)
Also, on that flight, there was partial cloud cover at about 5,000 ft. He asked me if I wanted to go up and touch the clouds (open c ockpit)…I was like “Hell yea…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
And, we did just that…it was sooooo darn cool…!!!!!
Only problem was, it was warm on the ground that day, but not at 5,000 ft…and, I was wearing jean shorts and a tropical shirt…I was freezing my tail off up there…!!!!! :hilarious:
I’ve flown in everything from large airliners, small planes, helicopters, etc., but this was, by far, the coolest aircraft…!!! :)
If you, or anyone else here, ever get a chance to try it, I highly recommend.

On a side note…
Carolyn and I are completely opposite when it comes to thrill rides, etc., and she wouldn’t touch this with a billion-foot pole, but she knows I love it…!!!!! :hilarious:❤️:inlove::happy:

A coupla’ pics below from my second flight, and I also have another initial takeoff video, but it’s pretty much a repeat of the first one, so there’s no point in posting it…!!! ;)

ETA…
Carp, forgot to provide the Wiki page…!!!!! 🤪 :hilarious:

You've made some great progress! It will all be worth it, and now your new "forever" home is there for you.

By the way, my jaw dropped when I saw the size of your U-Haul !!! :hilarious:

Yes, when we moved into the new home at the end of ‘23, it was pretty crazy. You can collect A LOT of stuff in a home over 33+ years and raising 3 kids…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

It’s sounds like the hard part is over, and I pray y’all are comfortably settled in very soon…!!! :)

That U-Haul is bigger than my apartment.
Congrats on the move and hope the last parts go easy.

And this made me cry.

When I was looking after Auntie during her final months, there were two of us (me and Vro) doing alternate 48 hour shifts.

We had a WhatsApp group chat that also included my cousins (Auntie’s kids). Every morning, Vro and I would recap how many times Auntie needed injections, repositioning, reassuring, etc. Some nights we were up more than a dozen times. And at the end of each recap, we would sign off with “God is good. All the time”, and everyone would respond with “All the time, God is good”. It was such a needed reminder during those very dark times.

Okay, lunch break is over. Back to unpacking.
It already looks a bit better than this.

And yes, I made the bed even though my brother can’t pick up the bed frame from the apartment until tomorrow.

I was going back through WDW trip pics, and ran across some from the LEGO store in DS.
It reminded of something I hadn’t thought about in a long time.
There was this guy on the old website that was really into LEGOs. At one point he started building a model of Town Square/MSUSA out of his massive collection of LEGOs. He would post pics of his progress about once a week, but the forums on that site were discontinued before he finished it.
Out of curiosity, I Googled and found the very cool finished product…at least Town Square, which I’m pretty sure is all he could fit in the conservatory of their home…!!!!! :hilarious:

Seems like many of us here have been through the same up and down life experiences in recent years.
But yes, God and his love are always present.

On a lighter note, when I first saw the pic of y’all’s bed without reading that far, I thought “Wow, that is one ‘lowrider’ bed…!!!”…!!!!! :hilarious:
