So, HUGE fire in Arnhem. It's about 45 minutes from here, but E has to go through there to get to University. We were worried that she wouldn't make it to her test today because the whole inner city is closed, but the station is just outside the closed off area. No buses were going, but the trains were. It's so sad...all the buildings are historic from the 18th and 19th century, and they lost around 10 of them, plus around 30 apartments that were above the stores. It started at like 3:45 in the morning and by 5:30pm there were still flames. They don't THINK anyone was injured, but they can't get in to all the buildings to check because the fire was too hot and there was a risk of the buildings collapsing. They are tearing down some of the buildings because there's nothing left of them and the bits that are left are at a high risk of collapsing.
