OK, so I copy pasted the below here from a thread simply called “Buffets”, as I didn’t wanna’ be a smarta$$/embarrass them/P them off in their own thread, and have never seen them post here in this thread before, but where do questions like this even come from, especially regarding Disney…?!?!?!

“We are doing two character buffets on our coming trip. Our son (4) is very particular about food and he will not eat the breakfasts, if anything maybe a strawberry and if we are extremely lucky one pancake/waffle. My question is if our son is not going to eat are they still going to charge us even if we explain ahead of time?”

I had to seriously restrain myself from responding…
“Yes they will, as, last time I checked anyway, “maybe strawberries” were $15.95 each and “lucky pancakes/waffles” were $22.95 each.”

It was tough, but I resisted the urge…!!!!! :hilarious:
People don’t consider they are paying a (premium)charge for the character interaction, not just the food (and all the other expenses that come from running a restaurant.)

My husband had a co-worker with a special needs son (picky eater) and they brought their own food to the character buffet. He made a huge scene at the restaurant with several managers, insisting he would not pay for his son since the boy didn’t eat any buffet food.

People….

People, indeed.

Also, I could go on a whole “Boomer” picky eater rant about me eating everything my Mom ever put on the table, but the simple fact is, it’s true.
My middle brother was more of a picky eater, but there were no concessions made for him, so he ate.
Anyway, I better stop it there, because rant ;)…I do, however, wonder when my “filter” will completely disappear, though…???!!!!! 🤔 :hilarious:;):)

That looks like a fun, family event. I just Googled it (never heard of it before) and I see that they have a rodeo and concerts, etc.

Yes, we haven’t been there in years, but it was a lot of fun…!!! :)
It used to be called the Travis County Livestock Show and Rodeo, back in the day.
We used to go there for all of it…to see the animals, go to the carnival, the rodeo, concerts, eat the food, etc….we and our kids always loved it, so good memories…!!!!!
It lasts for two weeks, and we want to go with Emmy and Audrey, before it’s over…!!! :)

Seems to have a lot in common with country fairs up here -- except that Austin throws in a rodeo for good measure! :joyfull:

If I had my choice, I'd pick Standard Time year round. Not a fan of daylight savings time, but my wish is that there would be just ONE time all year (even if DST was the one chosen). I despise the changing of time, twice a year. 🤦‍♀️
If Atlanta stays on DST year round, sunrise won't be until 8 am in fall/winter/early spring! And it won't be dark at night until 9 pm (later in summer.)

Much prefer EST. Sunrise between 6-7 year round and the earliest sunset in winter is 6 pm.

I don’t know about other places, but it’s pretty much that way here, all over Texas…Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, etc.
Below is a pic of me all duded up for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, back in 1965…!!!!! 🤠:hilarious:

Don't feel guilty, that temp is my absolute ceiling.

I'm sorry yall.don't get a proper spring (or winter, for that matter)

You can keep your 80s and 90s I don't wannum. 😊

I guess I should probably clarify a bit more…
In recent months, I’ve posted pics of our temps down in the teens, and even some snow.
Many of our trees also end up with colored leaves, lose them when temps drop, and wildflowers go dormant.
It’s just not as extreme as where y’all live.
And, don’t feel sorry for us either, as I’ll post a bunch of proper spring Texas wildflower pics soon enough…!!! 😉
We just couldn’t live where y’ll do, no more than y’all could live where we do, no biggie…!!! :)
