Back to school tomorrow. 😭

Winter break is so weird. It feels like so long ago since Christmas, but it also feels like there was barely any time off.

We are back tomorrow too. The break went by way to fast. I am cursing our calendar committee right now for having these 2 days in January but at the end of May when I'm done with school I will be happy with them.

I'm so ready to be done with this year, so it just makes it that much harder. And knowing we're going into the long haul between winter and spring breaks. Winter. Snow clothes for recess. Lots of indoor recess. No sunlight. No breaks. Blaaaaah.

I looked at the calendar today and was like "12 school days to work until our next day off", which isn't really a day off for me since it's a pd day.

Same here. We have a half PD day, and half day to work on report cards.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I have spent almost a decade growing, pruning, shaping, and training the bushes on each side of the front step railings. The east side had grown into a climbing vine, more than 8’ in height, and was a perfect shield from the neighbours when I was sitting on the steps. The west side I kept significantly shorter and trained it to act mainly as ground cover. It was perfect.

Today, I took the sawzall (reciprocating saw) and cut it all down. Took me about 20 minutes, with Mike spending an additional 10 minutes or so to get the roots out.

The front of the house looks totally different. I still look the same. Ten fingers, ten toes, no missing limbs or appendages. Ha!

Thurs. Jan. 2nd means that I and the other 2 teachers on this thread....we're going back to school :)
I saw two people post sad emojis. FYI: I am NOT sad. Over the break I had a cruise....then I had 3 days beyond that to rest up. I feel blessed.
I am posting from my band room and I'm feeling very happy to see me students again.
Have a great day!
Steve
