Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Do we get to choose which Ambrosia?

This?

Or this?

I choose the former! Slurp!

Back in my teens, I worked in a pizza/spaghetti joint that boasted the city's best salad bar.
I used to work the Saturday morning prep shift, and one of my favourite tasks was making the giant tubs of ambrosia salad.

One shift, I made up a giant batch, and gave it a little taste test; which I promptly spat out. Something was wrong. Very wrong. I looked at all the ingredients in front of me, confirming I hadn't missed anything, then called the manager. He took a taste, spit it out, and said to start again, but to double check the date on the sour cream.

I made another giant batch, tasting just about everything before adding it. Everything except the shredded coconut, because I don't really like coconut on its own. Turns out the coconut had spoiled and I ended up wrecking yet another batch.

Long story short - no ambrosia salad on the the salad bar that weekend. And it was weeks, weeks I tell you, before I could eat that stuff again. :joyfull:

Should I ask how one goes about celebrating this day?
i would start with this

National Ding-a-Ling Day is celebrated across the United States each year on December 12.

To read a story written about National Ding-A-Ling Day in 1975, go to http://news.google.com/newspapers?n...EdNAAAAIBAJ&sjid=4foDAAAAIBAJ&pg=3091,3020987

OBSERVE

Call someone you haven’t heard from in a long time and use #NationalDing-A-LingDay to post on social media.

HISTORY

In 1972, Franky Hyle placed a free ad in Chase’s Calendar of Events with his PO Box Number in Melrose Park, IL stating that for $1 you can join the National Ding-A-Ling club. The club, with 871 original members, would call friends and relatives they haven’t heard from in awhile every year on December 12.

The tradition grew and on December 12 millions of people will call those people who are dear to them.

Well yes, of course, that goes without saying.

What a smart person would do, though, is just delete said unused apps ... like Skype, and a host of unnecessary, mandatory Apple apps!
I still have all the original apps on my iPad, as I'm afraid I might one day want to even look at what they may do.

Such procrastination and fear of losing something that I may, one day, actually have a use for.

I lent my iPad to Ski months ago. Haven't seen it since. I have been 100% reliant on my phone ever since.

I have an entirely different definition of a "ding-a-ling". I'm thinking it came from Archie Bunker.

I think we have had this conversation before, but what did the Keurig do to deserve a spanking?
When you haven't worked in a year and a half, trips to Buffalo and spanking your Keurig is about as good as it gets.

I forgot to mention this last week - we picked up and drove the Boss to the Christmas party. In the car, on the way down, she was very vague as to when my new site was opening.
After many glasses of wine, and three travellers that Hubby gave her in the car, I got precise dates. A decision will be made mid-January; from which time, she needs 6 weeks. Best case scenario, we're looking at end of February/beginning of March.

In vino veritas. :hilarious:

Yeah we tried it - didn't cae for it. I much prefer to make a pot of coffee in the morning.
I've never been a coffee drinker, but it seems to me that the coffee for those things is way over priced.

Isn't it a lot cheaper to just brew a pot of cooffee than to use those little pod things?

There I go again adding extra letters to things....I blame @JenniferS

much cheaper - and sometimes I only want another half cup or so, and neither one of us drink all those flavored coffees, so it seemed senseless to us.
