Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I was just talking about the house...as it looks very Canadian.
Interesting, I guess I never thought anything of it.
Working for a new home builder, I know stucco presents challenges due to the weather. Brick is still, and will probably always be the go-to exterior cladding choice for this geographical region.

I'll tell you though, there is definitely what I call a Buffalo house. Two story, sided, with multiple additions to the rear, each addition lower than the one before it, so there are multiple roof heights. Apparently they even have a name - telescope houses.

The Rise and Fall of Buffalo’s Curious Telescope Houses

We’ve probably all seen them before, but until now I never thought of referring to them as ‘Telescope Houses“. No, I’m not talking about some sort of super modern, expandable micro-dwellings, rather they are houses indigenous mainly to the East Side of Buffalo, where homeowners have built addition after addition over the years. With a couple of add-ons (kitchen, bedroom, etc.), the house begins to take on the appearance of a telescope, thus the term Telescope Houses.

Photographer and sociologist David Schalliol has paid a visit to Buffalo numerous times to photograph this city’s architecture. Now, a dedicated segment of his work is featured in ArchDaily.com – Schalliol has compiled a series of images, along with writings, that pay homage to these unusual houses.

And I just got my first knock on FB chastising me for not waiting until after Remembrance Day.

My response:
There is no requirement to wait. Remembrance Day is about celebrating the sacrifices our Veterans made to preserve freedom. Freedom to put up or not put up decorations at any time of year.

Much nicer than "Bite me". Don't you think?

I have never had so much trouble stringing tree lights. I can't get the male/female ends to line up. At one point, I think I had one string connected to itself. Yeah, 'cause that works really well.

I may just have to rip them all out (including the four strings that were permanently zip-tied in place last year) and start over.

But first, I need some PolySporin and band aids.

JenniferS - not having fun.

Hubby and Ski are outside putting up my lights (yes, my lights), and I just reminded him that if they're up, they're on!

Meanwhile, I might be inside putting up the tree.
(I absolutely will not be decorating the fireplace mantle and hanging the stockings yet.)

My hubby started putting up the Christmas decorations outside today. I am itching to start decorating the inside but have refrained so far.
