Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

True. But around Christmastime, that is how you want it, yes? :)

If I don't teach myself a lesson, who will?

Ok...so these are photos from their Halloween parade, which is a short parade that ran several times throughout the day. To be honest, it is more like a Fall Harvest parade with a bit of Halloween mixed in (seems like they may have converted old floats). But it was fun even so and the music was catchy. Photos are not the best as we came upon it as it was already going so people were in front of us. We saw it again the following day from a better vantage but I filmed the whole thing rather than taking photos.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
We picked up the new dishwasher yesterday, and the Bosch certified plumber installed it today.

There's a big dent in the bottom corner.

I've decided the following:
- without my glasses, I can't see it
- it will be dented within a week or two, anyway
- this one's not leaking, so it's all good.

More photos from different parts of the park.

Instead of Tomorrowland, they have Discoveryland. Notice the Weremouse Halloween shirt this random young man is wearing...

So Space Mountain Mission 2 is an entirely different ride from Space Mountain. It is a launching coaster that has inversions and instead of flying through the stars, you are flying around giant planets. Also, a good chunk of the queue is outside, which is weird to me.

So around 3PM we left the park to go check into our apartment. The plan was to drop off our luggage and come right back, which is exactly what we did. Below are a couple photos of the MS bypass, which is a covered area behind the shops. I thought it was pretty nice in that you could still access the shops from this areas as well. It still felt like part of the park, as it was.

I'm not one of those people to always pull the: "Why can't WDW do it more like this park..." or "Why can't WDW do it more like that park". But wow, that looks classy! I really wish MK had stolen a page from DLP's playbook when it came to the bypass development & construction. That is how it's done!

Ok, just going to throw up the last group of photos from day 1...all nighttime pictures

DSCN1128.JPG
We had dinner at the Lucky Nugget, which is essentially their version of the Diamond Horseshoe. Sandwiches and stuff. You would wait in line to place an order and then have a seat with your receipt in hand. A server would then grab your food receipt and bring your food to the table when it was ready. It was nice not to have to carry the tray to the table.

The castle looked amazing at night. Their nighttime spectacular is called Disney Dreams. It is castle projections, water projections, lasers, and fireworks combined into one show. It was really cool, especially since the main story line of the show was Peter Pan, which is my favorite animated feature.

A couple shots of Main Street at night.

So that is all from day 1. I would say my favorite attractions from this day were Pirates, Mission Space 2, and Phantom Manor. Yes, I forgot to mention Phantom Manor (their Haunted Mansion). So, their version is super creepy! Instead of the graveyard scene, you go underground with the ghosts and their "dead bodies". Definitely a bit more intense than our version. And it scared the crap out of the kid, although she said she wanted to go on again when it was over. Once thing I did not like was the lack of narration like ours. Somewhat of a let down. But it was still really cool.

I will give it a break for today and post photos from Day 2 tomorrow. Day 2 includes more of DL Park with attractions like Big Thunder and a journey over to their second park, Walt Disney Studios, with attractions like Ratatouille.

yes, it was really well done. They had a bypass like this on both sides. I think at WDW it would be hard to do now with the current setup of the buildings. At DLP this is essentially a part of the MS buildings.

Usually you can negotiate a discount when they deliver something dented. They don't want to go to the trouble to haul it back and bring you another one.

I can't prove who dented it - it wasn't revealed until I removed the protective film, so there's an issue with chain of command.

We picked it up, in the back of a pickup truck. Plus, it could have been the installer.

I'm not going to sweat it. Like I said, we would have dented it sooner rather than later, anyway.

Love the full moon over MS!

Great updates today, Andrew. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings. I gotta ask, how was the Swiss Family / Adventure (Tom Sawyer?) Island area of DLP? I read somewhere that it is one of the best of all the MK "islands" of that type, when it comes to environment. Did you get to explore that area? And was Skull Rock (still can't get over how cool the glowing crow's eyes look from a distance) part of that area, or more so for POTC?

Once again, great pics!

Unfortunately, we did not get to spend any time on Adventure Isle, although it looked really cool. We just ran out of time and could not do everything in 2 days; especially with a toddler.

Skull Rock is next to Adventure Isle and is essentially a part of it. This area is called Pirate Beach where there is also a playground for kids.

The closest we came to these areas was when we passed it on the way to PotC. It looked amazing but just never managed to get over there.

Plus, they'll most likely just sell it at a discount anyway. That's what we do with dented appliances at work. It's easier to do that than send it back to the company.

So the first attraction we went on was...Pirates of the Caribbean. It reminded me a bit of the DL version except the scenes were in a different order. Also, no Jack Sparrow and there was a lift and two drops. During the ride, the kid would cover her eyes during certain parts with her hands, but then peak through her fingers to see what was going on.

After Pirates, we went to Fantasyland to enjoy some more attractions. I thought this land was really pretty but the layout seemed a bit weird to me for some reason...

More pictures from FL coming up in a bit....
Is it sacrilege if I find this FL nicer looking than ours?

What, a view of what the managers drive is a poor way to theme a bypass?
