Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The first time I went I was so excited to read all the street signs. Then I started paying attention to what was actually ON the streets and realized we should really just pick a casino and park. Fast.
I went once - 1994.
I declared it "Port Dover, with a Duncan Donuts".

Hookers on every corner though, if that's your thing.

ETA - I really should read all the way through before commenting.

Port Dover ? There must be a story behind that comment.

My boss is headed there for vacation next week as part of an east coast trip ending up in NYC. Should I warn her?

The casinos face the Boardwalk. That whole side is really cool to walk. The casinos are really fun to pop in and out of - the theming is just so over the top. The backside of the hotels have the parking garages and beyond that it's just not the best place to be.

What was on the streets? Asphalt? Cement? ......Hookers?

That's exactly what I was going to say!!

I was in a fine mood, as earlier posts will attest, but now to paraphrase CCR - there's a bad mood on the rise.

- Auntie called. She's totally in the dumps. Feeling very weak, short of breath, and in a lot of pain from her hand surgery last Friday.
- I went to the grocery store, but forgot bread.
- I went to buy dishwasher salt at the only store in town that sells it, and they were out.
- While there I stubbed my other baby toe, so at least the throbbing is symmetrical.
- I took Avery to the bank, and he needed me to detour to the Payday Loan place - which I have repeatedly warned him not to use.
- Then, when removing my jacket, I smashed my funny bone on the corner of the wall.
- Plus, the tears have started a little early in advance of "Mom Day" tomorrow.

Move over, there's a new clumsy, whiner in town.

Hubby says he loves me though, so there's that.

((hug))

No gators yet, but tomorrow's a new day!
Just remember that one safety rule of mine when it comes to gator encounters. Always stop, drop, & make steady eye-contact. Wait...that may not be smart. But either way, if you see my big gal, tell her I miss her. :(

Glad you made it down there safely. Hope you get a lot of (much needed) rest!

I've just started the first book in the series that I've been binge-reading, and boy oh boy, does it not start out the way I thought.

It's always nice to be surprised, and then to watch the characters develop.

I know exactly what you mean. Not to give away too much about the ending, but the Berenstain Bears do eventually find a suitable spot for their family picnic. As to where exactly that spot is, you'll just have to read on to find out.

And now, because of references in the book, I am obsessively Googling Marble Row in NYC.

In case you're wondering - this is why I never get to bed at a decent hour. I am totally incapable of reading a book without stopping to Google half a dozen things every chapter.

On the plus side, I am very good at Jeopardy, and am the most coveted Trivial Pursuit partner.
