I've always hated tomatoes, not sure why. But I love tomato soup, ketchup, pasta sauce...so it doesn't really make sense why I wouldn't like tomatoes themselves.

I guess it's time to grow up, keep an open mind, and give them another try. They're supposedly really good...and have been credited as a preventer of prostate cancer.

Time for this Duke to rethink the tomato.

There is nothing better than the first fresh tomato of summer! Those store-bought things are really gross, but a fresh-off-the-vine tomato is pure nirvana!

I'm not a huge fan of tomato products. Pasta and pizza sauce I can have if it's not too much, same with ketchup. Outside of that I'm not huge on the tomato. I like my tomatoes in small doses. When it comes to sauce, I'm much more of an alfredo person.

I like to slice a fresh tomato and serve it with some balsamic. The gf also made fresh sauce with some a couple times. We're not far from some farms so we always drive out to their stands or wait for a farmer's market in our neighborhood to buy them.

As you can see, those trees are still fairly monochromatic. Scarcely any of the trees have turned yet. For some reason, we are more than two weeks behind.
Usually at this point, the hills are exploding in brilliant oranges, yellows, and reds.

This year, a whole lot of green.
