Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Not sure if impaired driving is more prevalent here than in other provinces/states. Google says accidents caused by drunk driving are down 60% from 25 years ago.

Tiny step in the right direction, but there is zero reason for a drunk to get behind the wheel.

According to the news, the arrested driver's family is worth more than a billion (with a B) dollars.
I used to know his grandfather.

Pretty sure his money isn't going to help him now.
Oh, I wouldn't count on that. I'll bet it makes a big difference and before they are done it will be the grandfathers fault.

I hope not.

I think the media is going to make sure that doesn't happen. Like I said, I recognized the name and knew what kind of mega bucks we were dealing with.
All of the media - online, print, radio, and tv - is making sure that everyone else knows.

They even showed a picture of his home.
They are also hammering home the fact that his BAL was more than twice the legal limit.

Have you discovered 94% yet? It's kind of like Family Fued but no families or chance to win money. Basically they give you a topic and you need to think of the most popular answers.
FYI - I've downloaded and since erased 94%.
On every single question, one of the piddly-point answers stumped me.

I may try again when I'm feeling a bit better.

A real tragedy occurred on Ontario's roads yesterday afternoon, pretty close to Hubby's office.

A drunk driver slammed into a van, killing three children under the age of ten, along with their grandfather; and badly injuring the other two adult occupants.

Sooooo senseless. Why the hell is this rich (and I mean uber-rich - I know the family) punk driving drunk at 4:00 in the afternoon? He's fine, by the way.

That's awful. There are stories of a drunk driver murdering innocent families on an almost daily basis around here. I'm to the point where if I'm first at a light I wait a few seconds after it turns green to go. Beep all you want - and they do - but I'm not going anywhere until I see oncoming traffic actually stop.

Same here! My older brother was in a really awful accident a few years ago because the driver totally ran the red light, and my brother's car was the second one that had entered the intersection.

After all these years of hearing the messages about the dangers of drunk/impaired driving it is so disheartening that people are stupid enough to do it anyway. It is very sad to read this, I hope the driver spends a lot of time thinking and suffering over his actions.

And yet he was too cheap to get a taxi.....

I love a good turn of phrase.

From X: " I'd been a biter as a kid and I can still remember the feel of flesh between my teeth. It's like biting a rubber bathing cap, in case you're curious." - Kinsey Millhone

And while we're at it, best line from a song - Joe Jackson, Is She Really Going Out With Him: "They say that looks don't count for much / If so, there goes your proof".

Close second - Eddie Schwartz (later covered by America, and then by Meat Loaf), Special Girl: "Into each life, a little sunlight wants to shine ...."
