Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Anyone else see the Disney special on TV (ABC) last night? I recorded it and watched it today (minus the commercials, etc.). Some of it was good. I like Julianne Hough. Her clothing designer comes up with the best outfits for her. I particularly like the red sparkly one in the dance sequences. (I like sparklies -- yet, all my clothes are dull. :hilarious:).

John Legend's smooth voice was perfect for singing some Christmas songs. Pentatonix is always good. The main performer of the night, Elton John, was great. (He sang, "Your Song" -- I always liked that one.) There were some other singers and performers that I wasn't familiar with.

As usual, it's a big commercial for Disney Parks. These shows always crack me up when they have one (or more) of their headliners experience one of the bigger attractions -- because the stars never have to wait in a line for any of them. 🤔 Julianne Hough was sent over to try Tron -- and voila -- it was a walk-on for her! :joyfull:

@JenniferS -- heard that there is a postal strike going on in Canada now. Hope that both sides of the issues will come to an agreement/compromise soon. (Right before Christmas -- not the best time for this.)
It’s been ongoing for a few weeks already.
We don’t have a mailroom at the apartment, so all Amazon orders get sent to the post office outlet.

Postal strike = no post office outlet open = no Amazon deliveries.

I did all of my Christmas shopping during Amazon’s Black Friday week event, and then we went home last Thursday night/Friday so I could be there to thwart the porch pirates.

I watched it and thought it was better than it had been for a couple years.

I see this was already answered, but just for some future reference, pretty much any time you are melting butter, use low heat. Butter burns easily, so you don't want to use a high temp for that. Melt the butter first, THEN add flour. Otherwise the mixture burns before the butter melts.
Thanks! I likely would have done that had I not gotten advice. But these recipes really need to be idiot-proof.

I was watching some livestreams when they were recording this. Elton John did a few takes of Your Song. I just imagined how the vast majority of the people there had no clue he would be performing, and how crazy that would be. The only ones that did were locals who have insider information.

Oh my, another cruise would be awesome…!!! 🙂
We’ve taken 5 cruises since Dec. of 2017. 4 weeklong Carnival cruises, and a 5-day Disney cruise. Even though we happened upon a crazy-good deal on the Disney cruise, we could still only afford 5 days…!!!!! 🤪😅
We actually have our sights set on Europe for our next family adventure, but no bookings…..yet.
When DWifeys (Carolyn) Pop was in the Air Force, they were stationed in Germany for a while, and both DDs, SonIL and even our 2 granddaughters (Audrey 3, and Emmy 6) have already been to Europe…but, alas, DS and I have not.
Before Covid, we actually had a 10-day European cruise booked, which would have been the best of both worlds, but that’s off the table now.
I just really wanna’ get to Europe before I croak…!!!!! 😂😉

My brother and his wife just did a European cruise this fall. They LOVED it!

Gravenhurst is 104 km NW of us - approximately 60 miles.

They officially topped out at 140cm of snow. That’s about 4” shy of 5’!

Highway 11 leading into the area is slowly reopening. Those folks have been snowed in for days. Lots still without hydro (power).

I assume that the two of you returned to school today .
For me, it was weird that December 2nd was the first day back after Thanksgiving! Wow! December 2nd seems kinda late?!
Looking ahead, our last day of school prior to Christmas is December 20th and yet tomorrow morning it will already be December 3rd!
I have so many things to accomplish between now and then....professionally and personally. Time is rushing by too fast!

( In 2022 we returned to school on Monday Nov. 28th......in 2023 we returned to school on Monday Nov. 27th )

Yeah it is a little weird, there will be quite the crush before our last day of holiday break which is the same as you. Our break is short though, back on January 2. But the school year is done on May 29.

I just took Daisy for her night time walk. Since it got so cold with a bit of snow and ice here, she’s been walking shorter distances. Once she’s had enough, she just stops and cries, and I have to carry her the rest of the way home.

Tonight, less than 100m from the apartment, she started hobbling on three legs, and wouldn’t put the fourth paw down.

When I got back, I told Mike about it, and without even thinking, I referred to it as her “rear passenger leg”. 😂

She has boots at home that take 15 minutes to get on her … and 15 microseconds for her to shake off. I’m going to see if I can find her some better fitting ones. Winter is long up here. I don’t want her suffering; and I count on these walks to help me close all my rings. (The last time I failed to close all three was June 19th!)

It's just one of those things you have to learn with experience. My mom didn't really teach me how to cook. I mean, she taught me how to boil water, and I could make a grilled cheese, but I had never used a knife until after college. I helped her bake at Christmas, but I didn't really learn to cook until I was on my own. I've learned a lot by trial and error.
