Tomorrow around here is the dreaded "Take Your Child To Work Day". Is this a National thing that will impact both of you as well?
So many of my school's students will be absent tomorrow.
Thank goodness it was NOT designated for today.
I had 2 Band Concerts earlier today.
Additionally...
I'm messaging from school as I await the time to receive the students and parents for this evening's performance.

I don't think I've ever had a student miss for "Take Your Child to Work Day", must not be a thing in my area.\

The teacher across the hall from me has a son in my class (her class too) maybe he should follow her around all day!

Jell-o Pudding Pops were more my jam. I doubt they are as good as I remember them. I mean, how could they be?

Oh man, I used to LOVE these, but they were super expensive and we couldn't afford them, so I only got them if someone brought them for their birthday treat at school, or if I was over at a friend's house and they had them. They don't have anything like that over here. Probably a good thing, since I shouldn't be eating them.

There are 35 of our 5th graders absent today! (out of 145 total 5th graders in our large Elementary School)

Additionally, there are a few of our school's teaching staff members who brought their own kids to school today.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I used to pick up an extra baby sitting gig a few times a month just so I could buy them. 😂

I hated baby sitting, but I loved Jell-o pudding pops!

Back then, the going rate was a buck an hour. Finally went up to two bucks an hour as I was winding down. Anyone know the current rate for a run of the mill, teenaged baby sitter?

According to Reddit it’s $10-$15/hr here, with $12 being the average for a younger sitter, and $15 for an experienced, older, teenaged sitter.

Shame you would only get 10-15 bucks and hour .

Going rate when I was a teen was about 3.50 per hour for one kid, more for additional kiddos. I had a steady gig every weekend for 13 hours a day, but I only got $1 per hour for one kid. It was a single mom, cousin of a good friend of mine and she couldn't afford much so I was doing her a favor. I babysat that girl for a couple of years, and towards the end, her mom started dating this guy who she eventually married. He came home early one day and told me I could go if I wanted, asked me how much the mom usually paid me, and was so shocked. He said it wasn't enough and paid me three bucks per hour. I thought that was really nice of him. I earned it, too....that girl...she was difficult.
