Happy New Year. We started off with a bang. Got a call this morning asking DH to come right away. His dad has been screaming in pain all morning. He followed the ambulance to the hospital and might stay there at least tonight. Prayers would be welcome, for those so inclined. Thank you.

$200 million cost and Vessel remains closed.I am having a nice day in NYC with my wife and daughter. I created a separate thread if anyone is willing to look. I can't copy and paste it here at the moment. Here is one sample photo though...View attachment 761086
Glad to hear they found out what was causing him the pain. Sad to hear that he has physical therapy ahead of him, and relief may take a while to happen.Update: They did a bunch of tests....ultrasound, CT scan, etc. CT scan shows one of his vertebrae is collapsing in on itself. They can't really treat it as such, so they released him to go home, but wheeling him to the car was too painful that they took him right back in. They won't admit him to the hospital because he doesn't need treatment, but he can't go home because of the pain, so they will be moving him to a rehabilitation center for physical therapy and pain management, etc.
There is a two letter word in the English language that when said loud enough gets the message through quite clear. I suggest you use it, first chance you get.We were supposed to go up to the apartment tomorrow to hang drapes and deliver the Boxing Day tv I bought, but Beavis and Butthead are fighting so bad that I can’t really trust them alone all day. (There’s a hot button issue; not just their general BS, and neither will be over it by tomorrow.)
I’m 56 years old - I didn’t sign up for this. But there you have it, it is what it is. I always try to rationalize these things and say that there must be some reason the Lord wants me to be (or not be) somewhere.
I’m hoping no one calls me for a ride tonight. It unexpectedly snowed, I’m riding on 4 hours sleep, and I just want to go to bed with a hot cup of tea to watch The Gilded Age.
Happy New Year, friends. I hope 2024 brings you great blessings. A little peace around the globe would be nice too.
I’m moving. I’ll be 3 hours away from everybody soon enough. There is a two letter word in the English language that when said loud enough gets the message through quite clear. I suggest you use it, first chance you get.
NO, NO, NO AND IN CASE THEY HAVEN'T HEARD NO ONCE MORE.

Lemon Bars, still in a slab and without their coat of powdered sugar. My variation from the recipe is to use fresh lemon juice, obviously the recipe was clipped from a ReaLemon advert.

And my hubby’s favourite, the plainest of plain vanilla cookies, Spritz. That I make these is evidence of how fond I am of him, because filling, using and cleaning a cookie press is a giant pain in the butt. (the star is his favourite shape—I make the trees because they are more festive)

I use vanilla, he is allergic to nuts. And yep, there is nothing plainer than these cookies!Do you use almond or vanilla extract for the spritz? My mom used almond and I think it adds a nice flavor otherwise they are pretty plain cookies.
Is the duck (duct) tape to:
- secure the tv to the roof, thereby freeing up the backseat?
- redneck (Red Green?) secure the curtain rods, thereby eliminating my need to take Mike?
- hog-tape my kids in separate rooms, so they can’t take this fight to the next level?
- all of the above? (I’m going to need a three-pack!)
