My brother is at DHS today. They got evac’d from R’nRC at the end of the ride. Got two LL’s per person for their trouble though.

Very cool. I was just looking at wait times a little bit ago. It's absolutely insane. I would never want to go this week.

About being evacuated... I've only ever gotten evacuated off one ride. Backlot Tours. The tram got stuck in the canyon scene because the floor wouldn't level off. He had to walk the pathway back to the front of the ride.

We got evac’d off Big Thunder … right under the waterfall. We sat on the lift hill overlooking the cave of stalactites and stalagmites to the right, and the whole time I’m silently willing everyone to lean left so we don’t tip. It took them forever to shut off the water, and eventually they gave up and just unloaded us with it still going, if I recall.

Not my pics, but pretty much here:

The only ride I've been evacuated from was Tower of Terror. It got stuck in the basement, and we had to wait for some maintenance CM to unlock the seatbelt system first, and then we got off our "elevator car" -- and walked up a flight of steps into some back hall. They gave everyone a free ride again, so everyone got on another elevator and had a 2nd ride, and this one ended o.k.

What was interesting was that the basement was like a general storage area. (Behind the scenes of an attraction is very different than the actual attraction itself!) ;)

I tried to take Daisy for her walk. It’s wet snowing, and she fought me every step of the way for about 100m. I checked her sweater, I checked her collar, I checked to make sure she wasn’t limping. All good - she just noped with every step.

Finally, I said, “Forget it, we’re going home”, and she pranced like a show dog the whole way back. What a princess.

That moment when you realize you made too much dough for what was planned. Oh well, onion bread added to the menu

@PUSH , I am sooo ready to get back to school. I have Tuesday morning's clothes already ironed and set aside.
I would imagine that you are ready ( if not eager ) to return as well? 🤔
Happy New Year to you. I am not eager to go back at all. It was an incredibly short break as I worked through the 22nd and then it was family gatherings and traveling for more family gatherings. I’m beat and would like a few more recharge days.

I did some of my Christmas baking tonight, and will do some more tomorrow. I feel bad, because I promised a dear coworker who lives in Texas that I would send him some holiday baked goods--that was back in the summer when we had our company get together, and I made some chocolate and PB treats for everyone. This guy, Felipe, who grew up in the same neighborhood as me in the Bronx (but 10 years later) and now lives in TX, is actually legit allergic to chocolate and couldn't partake. So I assured him that my hubs also only liked citrus and cinnamonny goodies, and that when I did my holiday baking, I would send him some. In fact, right before I got the bad news about my uncle and had to take off for Ireland before Christmas, I emailed Felipe and told him I'd be sending him a care package, and he replied that I had just put the biggest smile on his face. So I can't let him down.

I made some mini lemon pound cakes today, as well as lemon bars and cherry crumb bars, and tomorrow plan to make oatmeal cookies and spritz (the spritz are for my actual husband, they are the most bland of cookies, but are his favourite).

Will remember to take photos and post them so @JenniferS doesn't get upset with me. :D

Does anyone want the actual recipes so they can duplicate my efforts? Happy to share.
