Requesting thoughts and prayers for my hubby’s (only) cousin, Vincent, (they are a very small family) who is presently in ICU after suffering a brain bleed brought on by hypertension. Next 24-48 hours are crucial.

If any of you have high blood pressure, please take your meds religiously.

And yes, we have a Cousin Vinny.
That sounds quite serious. Prayers for a positive outcome for Vinny. Thanks for the reminder about folks with high blood pressure; it's nothing to take lightly.

Well, I finally fully understand Walt’s desire for the utilidors, and his distaste for seeing characters from different lands roaming the parks.

I play DMK online and have assembled a very impressive park. In the NW quadrant I have built a very impressive Agrabah. Son of a gun if I don’t log in yesterday to see Jasmine all the way over in the SE quadrant of the park in Star Wars Land.

Girlfriend, get back on that magic carpet and get back home. Geesh!

I had a Medical appointment this morning and it was only 33F. I have to admit that my 12 years here have altered my cold air tolerance a little. I did break down and wear long pants (gasp) and a fairly light jacket, but I used to wear basically the same thing at 0 degrees F when I lived in Vermont. The sight out there this morning was boots (no snow and totally clear sky's) knit hats, Parka's with fir lined hood worn over the hat, mittens and a scarf. My blood hasn't thinned out quite that much yet, but as I get older I suspect it is going to catch up with me.

I wish to apologize due to the fact that every once in a while I lose track and think that I'm conversing with grownups here, but clearly I have totally misjudged my audience. It's 2pm young lady, isn't that nap time in Cananada? ;) 😴

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
You can always round up to the nearest dollar when paying in the supermarket or retail stores that goes to charity corporate pockets.
I have two personal charities that I support, so I always decline at the supermarket/retail store checkout. I like to know where my money is being spent, and that is rarely the case with these corporate requests.

“Not today, thank you.”

I like that way of supporting charities. I have always limited the charity boxes for loose change on our shop counter to 2. One for each till. A cancer one (affects us all) and a local lifeboat one (local and very appropriate for a small island).

If I’m too cheap to pay for delivery and tip (I am), what makes you think I want to pay a tip for pick up?

Even my butcher has a tip button. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Its a way for employers to not pay their staff a higher wage. At the end of the shift whatever tips are collected is given to the staff courtesy of whoever customers that wants to tip. I've heard customers are more likely to tip on this option during weekends, holidays and or huge take out pick up orders. Filling up the tip jar is old school and a thing of the past but some places still have the jar by the cash register.

In Ontario, Canada (where I live), the minimum wage for servers is the same as the general minimum wage. (It used to be a buck or two less for servers, but now it’s not.)
