Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

As a Wisconsinite, I feel quite honored that they are selling those sweatshirts.
Woah, I didn't realize that you were also in Wisconsin. Next time I see that sweatshirt, I will think of you, too!

They also had Boston sweatshirts, but as I was born and raised in the Bronx, I ignore those. There was a third US sweatshirt--Montana. I've decided that one is even more random.than Wisconsin. At least Wisconsin and Ireland have cheese in common. Not sure what made.them go with Montana.
I watched A Man Called Otto earlier today. I hadn't seen it before. I don't get emotional very often, but that one got me.
OMG, I watched that movie on a plane back in July (guess where I was flying between 😉). Loved it. Highly recommend. If it got you, that just means you're human. 😍

Hi Steve! The forecast was...wrong. :p

We enjoyed quite a bit of sunshine (and some rain, but not nearly as much as we expected, the worst was the day we were leaving for the airport to return to NY) and temps in the mid-50s.

Because we expected to have only two good days, we wore ourselves out on arrival day, I washed all the windows and changed the summer curtains for the winter ones, and my hubby got out his blower and cleared all the leaves into the compost heap. The next day, we cleaned out the gutters. So, bonus, we got to enjoy the remainder of the decent weather! Mostly by going shopping and visiting family, and hosting a dinner party with a couple of my cousins.

I don't really take a lot of photos, because I'm not a tourist anymore, but here are a few (because Ireland is very scenic, and sometimes you just gotta take a pic).

Captured this rainbow as we arrived home on one of the showery days. This is looking out my front door to the field across the street. Leprechauns may not be as common as folklore would have us believe, but fortunately rainbows are actually a very frequent occurrence.

Here are a couple of "arty" shots from my morning walks. The first is of the mists in the valley between my town and the next one over, and then there's the spiderweb coated with morning dew.

This is Lough Owel (pronounced lock oool) in County Westmeath. Great spot for fishing (although I don't go for fishing, just the walking) and I am intrigued by that island in the middle of it.

And, just to prove that I don't do the touristy things, but the housewifey things. We were in Dunnes Stores (which would be the Irish equivalent of Target), and I spotted this among the display of sweatshirts in the ladies department, which instantly made me think of @ajrwdwgirl 😆😍 so I had to take a picture of it.

And when we were aboard our flight back to JFK, I saw a young lady coming up the aisle wearing one of them with a pair of matching grey sweatpants...that's a look I haven't seen since high school, proving that everything comes back in style if you wait long enough.

The pictures were pretty. I wonder what the Wisconsin significance is for Ireland. I don't think it is that glamorous of a state but interesting. I used to love wearing sweatpants, they were so comfy.

What are the trees like in your area? We are pretty much at peak right now, and the colors are very vibrant. Much different than last year when everything just turned brown and died.

We still have a lot of green, and a lot of naked. Colours are not particularly vibrant this year. Might be because of all the rain (and then even more rain) we had from mid May straight through to the end of August.

We had no rain last year, and that played a part in the dullness. This year we didn't have tons of rain, but had more in September. That may have helped.

We are at peak and have had a lot of red and oranges. It has been very pretty.

Here in the southern Hudson Valley NY, I think we are close to peak colour, although the colors are a little bit dull, likely because we’ve had a lot of rain as well.

Mike was home for the weekend, but went back to the trailer tonight for this final week before the park closes. It’s just so much closer to work for him.

Hey Jen, why aren’t you out there with him?
Here’s why:

Heck, I live in NC and even I don't think of 46F to be cold. Still shorts and t-shirt weather. Also, doesn't the trailer have a heater?

Hubs and I are heading up to the White Mtns. of NH tomorrow for a few days. From what I've read, their foliage season has been a bit extended for this late in October -- parts of areas are a combo of peak, and past peak. Will enjoy what we see, even though we're not heading up there specifically for leaf peeping! :)

@NYwdwfan , I was just reading an article about apple orchards in upstate NY. Haven't a clue if you're anywhere near there, but if you are, there's a lot of places for picking apples. Seems like a fun fall activity, if you like being outdoors and watching the fall foliage.
I'm on Long Island. We have lots of pick your own orchards out east - along with pumpkin picking. We would go every year as a big group when the kids were little but the kids are too old for the corn mazes and hay rides now and i don't really feel like paying $25 for a small bag of apples or $30 for a medium pumpkin 🤣

The trailer has a furnace and an electric fireplace, and blankets and sleeping bags. The larger point is that Mike is gone 10 hours/day for work and I have zero interest in being huddled up in a trailer (with limited cable and no Blue Jays), when I could be home.

The trailer is fun when I can be outside all day, hanging around the lake, and visiting our friends. There is nobody left out there; everyone has gone home.

It’s warming up for a couple of days, so I’ll head out there to pack up all the clothes and bedding, empty the fridge, scrub everything until it shines, and wash the floors. We have to be out of there by the 31st. We’ll winterize and pull in the slides this weekend.
