Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

They would write 5/10/23 and say it as "the fifth of October"

When my dad immigrated to the US many many years ago, he filled in his date of birth as 6/1/32, as he would've done in Ireland. After working for several years, he realized there was a problem and had to do quite a bit of bureaucratics to change it from June 1 to his actual.birthdate of January 6.
I always knew Ireland did it the way you explained.
Yet....I also always assumed Canada was the same as the US.
Since they are so geographically close to us I wrongly assumed they were the same.

Full disclosure, I assumed the same thing! Didn’t realize that Canada used /MM/YYYY until @JenniferS mentioned it. Though it’s not surprising considering that Canada is part of the British Commonwealth.

We’ll have to wait for Jennifer to confirm or correct my assumption as to how they “say” the date in Canada matches how they say it in UK & Ireland. 😁

Well darn. The dentist called me on Tuesday. The scan for my permanent crown needed redoing because there was so much bleeding last week that it was cloudy, so I went back today. I was expecting to be in and out in less than 10 mins.

Nope - more freezing, a crap ton more below the gum work, soooooo much more bleeding, a new temporary crown, and two new Rx.

I’m in too deep to pull that sucker now.

That sounds awful. Hopefully the scrips help keep you happy (or at least pain-free)

I am going to vent with you because you also teach in an elementary school.
Today I heard : "I forgot" waaaaayyyyy too many times.
My students used those two words frequently today.
So....I'm READY for it to be the weekend! ;)
Do you get the Monday holiday off? (Indigenous Peoples' Day / Columbus Day -- different states call it different names.)
