Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Fall is coming. We took Daisy out for a ride in the golf cart today, and noticed the leaves have started changing.

One particular grouping of sumac has started to turn red as well, prompting me to recite the only two lines I remember of “Indian Summer”.*

The first full weekend of the CNE is behind us. It’s all downhill from here.

The campground is open until October 31st. How much time we spend out here in October remains to be seen.

* Along the line of smoky hills
The crimson forest stands,
And all the day the blue-jay calls
Throughout the autumn lands.

Now by the brook the maple leans
With all his glory spread,
And all the sumachs on the hills
Have turned their green to red.

Now by great marshes wrapt in mist,
Or past some river's mouth,
Throughout the long, still autumn day
Wild birds are flying south.

I find it amazing that our brains can retain bits and pieces of stuff like that but cannot remember where I put my phone just ten minutes ago. I can still sing the theme song of Gilligan's Island and you cannot get a more useless memory retention than that, unless it's the theme song of Green Acres or The Beverly hillbillies (which I'm almost embarrassed to say I also remember).

Everyone let me know which of those three are currently invading your brain box at this moment. You're welcome!

At the trailer, we only get six or seven channels through the built in antenna. The clearest one comes from next door Hamilton - CHCH.

Gilligan’s Island plays twice/day, and up until last week, both Beverly Hillbillies and Andy Griffith aired daily. Unfortunately the last two have been replaced by I Love Lucy.

Come at me, I don’t care, but I do NOT Love Lucy. At all.

I don't care much for Lucy either. It is the same basic story show after show. I used to love "mad about you". Around here, due to the NC connection, they play the Andy Griffith show constantly. It was a fun show, but how many times can you watch the same basic show over and over.

Day 1 of 187 is done! We had lots of meetings, including an extremely long and boring one right after lunch. I think I told you about that, but it was even longer and more boring than anticipated.

I did manage to get some work done in my room, too. I think tomorrow I should be able to finish printing off Open House forms and all that jazz. Then it's down to labeling their mailboxes, which is honestly my least favorite back to school job. It's so annoying.

I also need to mention that I'm tired. This is my first full day of work since June 1st... and I wasn't even with kids! I need to build my stamina back up.

This reminds me of my beloved family member who taught for 30 years. She was always feeling tired etc and fueled by rocket fuel coffee to keep her going through the day and late into the night doing lesson plans , grading papers . She finally went to see her PCP who then sent her to a cardiologist. After bloodwork , cat scans and the tell all be all stress test on the treadmill she was told to stop work immediately . After her surgery ( successful ) she took off a few months to recover and go through the important PT.
