Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

For multitudes of reasons I think Tom Cruise is awful. I have been to only one Tom Cruise movie and I don't remember the name of it. It's the one where he slides across the floor in his tighty whities. Unimpressed.

I can’t get around Tom Cruise. If he’s the star of something, that’s a pass from me. Glad you enjoyed it though.
Mission Impossible is really the only thing I've ever seen Tom Cruise in.

He's less impressive in person imho;)

My family member worked in an investment banking firm in CA. Tom Cruise financial mgr called saying Tom and him were to meet with one of the senior execs of the bank one afternoon. The odd request is when Tom was in the building no one is supposed to acknowledge Tom or look him in the eye except who he was meeting with him.

If the theater in our area was like that as well (enforcing quiet rules, no using phones during movie, etc.), I'd return to the theater, too. Glad you found a theater that provides a good experience for everyone there.
Most people now seem to be used to putting away their phones in the theater, but the thing now is people who bring kids and let them kick the seat in front of them. When we went to see....I think it was Avatar the Way of Water? There was a family in back of us with a bunch of little kids, who were obviously a bit bored and didn't understand what was going on, so they were loud and the kids kept kicking our seats. We all kept turning around and we asked politely but firmly to please stop kicking the seats. You would think at that point, the parents would be embarassed that people had to do that and that they'd make sure it stopped, but they didn't seem at all bothered by their kids being dusruptive or ruining other people's experience. It didn't stop, and we had to turn around multiple times to tell them to stop. Honestly, we should have probably gone and gotten someone who worked there and complained, but we also didn't want to miss any of the movie for that. When our kids were little, if they got restless, we just left so they didn't bother anyone. And we'd never have brought small children to a movie that we didn't think they could sit through.

I'm curious to know how a theater handles that. Do they just have people in the theater, like a hall monitor who goes and confronts people who are talking, or who are on their phones? Or do you have to go alert someone that there's a rude patron? Do they kick them out or just go talk to them and tell them to shut up?

I've never met him, but I'm not a huge fan of the kind of movies he does anyway, so I don't have to go out of my way to avoid him in them. I saw Top Gun I think when I was in college...I wasn't allowed to watch it when I was a kid. Now that I know more about him, I avoid his movies, but it's pretty easy because he's usually not in anything that I'm dying to see.

Not surprising in the least

From my experience in the multiplexes, there are a few people (often teenagers) working only in the lobby. Once you get up into the actual theaters, you're on your own. (In the old days, there used to be an employee who would walk through all the theaters, keeping an eye on the crowd. ) The theater owners don't care anymore; hence, I won't give them any more of my money. I'll occasionally watch movies at home.

His performance was outstanding in one movie: Born on the 4th of July, which was released in 1989. IMO, all his movies after that were meh.

Back in the day on a rainy day I would movie hop after seeing one movie hop to the other theatre and see the ending of the other movie to spend an afternoon at AMC 12 Downtown Disney at WDW. It has been years since I've seen a movie in the theatre. I think the last one was The Equalizer with Denzel Washington in 2014.

The wdwmagi... posting platform we use has tweaked something that disappoints me.
For years I have "Control C....Control V" ...copy and pasted my personal threads ( like my Ireland photos thread or my Chinese Lantern thread) and then I've reposted that thread on Tripadvisor. My forum friends over there were able to see the photos just as all of you could/can.
Not anymore.
TA has done something to make wdwmagi threads that are used on another platform only let people who are not members here see tiny images rather than the full images. Those people (I'm told) are greeted with words from this platform that they are encouraged to REGISTER for wdwmagi... so they can enjoy the photos fully and enjoy this website.
Well maybe they should because this is a good website.
Yet let's be candid.
Most of the people I exchange posts with on Tripadvisor will NOT join wdwmagi...
So, I went searching for another online platform that will allow me to post photos....and then copy and paste my thread onto Tripadvisor.
(It's annoying that Tripadvisor forums do not provide posters a way to do this through their Tripadvisor forums software.)
Anyway, I discovered cameraderie.org
I Registered and created a thread.
Now I will copy it and paste it here to show how it will be useful to me over on Tripadvisor

There will be no need for me to do that here. I am a member here and so are you all ...so over here I'll just create my photo threads as per usual.
Anyway............have a great day everyone! :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I was enjoying my day at DHS back in the day when there was a lot of fellow guests following Tom Cruise and his daughter Suri when they saw Beauty and the Beast and ate at Mama Melrose.
Apparently his custody arrangement allows him to see Suri up to 10 days/month, but they have not been seen publicly together since 2013, and are reportedly estranged. Sad.

He does see his two older kids that he and Nicole Kidman adopted.

Again, he’s not my cup of tea, and I don’t generally watch the kind of movies he stars in anyway.

My niece, Ally, texted me the other day. She’ll be back in Ontario for two weeks soon, and really wants to go see Barbie with me. We’ll hit up Haunted Mansion while she’s here too.

I think it was 2007 and I saw Suri was very shy even when kids were trying to talk to her. Some of the adults were all talking to Tom.

We are seeing Barbie on Thursday and then Oppenheimer on Friday. I will probably go to Haunted Mansion by myself because Brad will be gone on a church mission trip when it comes out and I don't know if I want to be a nice wife and wait. This summer has had a lot of movies I've wanted to see, it seems like every week I'm home I'm going to the movies.
