Don't think doing that to the engineer will help. Might be different in Joisey 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Songbird76 sorry if I missed the post, but how is the remodel going? I don't remember which thread you posted but I thought there was some hang up.
Late! They were supposed to be done last Friday, but they didn't send enough guys each day, so they had to come back Thursday and Friday to do the back, which is now finished, and they'll come back on Tuesday to do the front. It's SUPPOSED to be done then, but then again, it was supposed to be done more than a week ago, so...🤷‍♀️ And the sun screens at the front won't go in now until July 3rd. We asked about it because they hadn't put any electrical wiring in place for them, and the guys had no idea about it. They didn't know they were supposed to do that. So I guess they are doing that on Tuesday before they put the siding on, and then someone else comes and installs the screens. We got our brand new door locks replaced already because Wednesday, E got home and her key didn't work. Fortunately A was already home from school and hadn't left for tennis yet, so he was able to let her in. DH and I were both at work. We tested all the keys and none of them worked on the front door. So the guys checked it out on Thursday and they got someone in to replace the lock on Friday morning. We just had to make sure someone was home at all times to let everyone else in. So it's been a pain in the patootie, but with luck, it will be done soon. And we ordered a new couch since ours is falling apart.

The finished back:

And the new couch (actually we are getting 2 of these that will make an L shape. One for E and me and one for the boys, so we all have our own controles, etc.)

couch.jpgcouch2.jpg

Ours will be slightly darker and the stitching will be a similar color so you don't see it as much. That was the one thing I didn't like about this. But it is SOOOOO nice. There are 3 different sections you can adjust. The one makes the footrest go up and the back lie back, one adjusts the lower back for more support, and the third adjusts the head rest. It has a leather look, but ours will actually be a layer of leather with microfiber on top, so it's more sturdy and also water resistant, etc. We won't get them until November or December, but it's worth the wait.

And once the outside is done, we're going to add a bunch of bookshelves and such so we have more places for storage, which is something our house is severely lacking in.

It's always a full day park for me, too. I love it there.

But what I do is 2 half-days, ONLY because of the HEAT and humidity in that park -- with all the extra foliage. So for 2 mornings, I'll go for opening and leave sometime after noon. (That equals 1 full day, but just split up due to weather conditions.) 🦓🐑🦋🦁 🥰
We've had terrible luck with AK. The first time we went, everything got shut down for a storm so there was nothing to do because we had already seen all the shows, and pandora didn't exist yet. We left early. Then on our last trip, E got heat exhaustion and we had to sit in Pizzafari for several hours trying to cool her down and make her feel better. And on our 2nd day there, the park closed early for a special event. I've never seen Pandora at night. Dinosaur was closed for refurb on our last trip, so I've never been on it, and I think the petting zoo was maybe closed last time, too? We've never taken the train or seen the other stuff there.

@Songbird76 , have you ever been a visitor to Copenhagen Denmark? If "yes", would you be open to receiving some questions from me about using their train system?

Still no internet. It now says 8pm before it will be repaired. But I'm wondering if they even have anyone working on it over the weekend.

I did contact them via live chat, and they said they're going to give me a week's credit on my bill. I'll believe it when I see it, but I saved the chat transcript just in case.

Now it says the internet won't be repaired until 8pm tomorrow. I would be willing to bet they don't have any technicians working on the weekends. Very frustrating. Especially since it's literally the only internet option I have. There are no other providers where I live.

How frustrating!! Is there anywhere you can go where you can have access until it gets repaired?

Fascinating what they (can't) repair in a timely manner . . . and being the only game in town, allows them to get away with it. :cautious:

Technology is handy at times but harmful at others. Before all this proliferation of networks created by cable we enjoyed much better entertainment and after the installation of a roof top antenna and a motorized rotor we could get all the available channels and didn't have to listen to the massive hot air that we have to endure now. I can now get 147 channels and I regularly watch about 3 and those are the ones that show reruns of the programs I loved back pre-cable. Even then I doubt that I watch over an hour a day. As for the internet, well, I spent close to 4 hours a day just sitting here and watching stuff like You Tube or Discussion Boards as it all slowly turns my brain into mash potatoes. I keep threatening to get a hobby that might occupy my time, but I can't break the internet habit. I quit drinking and smoking quite easily and that was after 40 years of being a heavy smoker. This has me in it's grip.

Same thing with cell phones! For years and years I was on the road most of the day and never had a phone. I did have an answering machine so when I got home I had any important message I needed and NO ROBO CALLS. None! Never even gave it a thought. I owned a level 4 nursing home and when on a trip to WDW, once a day, I would find a payphone in the park and check in on how things were going. I even had to order a new freezer for the place while I was standing next to Main Street USA. I now go into a minor panic if I forget my phone and have gone past the point of no return to go back and get it. I am in a constant panic wondering if someone important is trying to reach me for something, almost no one important needs to speak to me when I have the phone with me.

I haven't, sorry! I've been to Germany, France, and Belgium, but not Denmark. There are SO many places I want to go! Are you heading there?
Yes. Arriving in Copenhagen Denmark at 10:50am on Sunday July 30th.
Doing tourism there the balance of that day....then also on Mon. 7/31 and Tues. 8/1
Wed. 8/2 my wife and I are getting on a cruise ship to Norway.
That ship returns back to Copenhagen a week later (Wed. 8/9) and then we go directly to the CPH airport to fly home.
*
I've been researching and posting my findings here....
*
The questions I was going to ask you have now been answered by a Copenhagen resident over on Tripadvisor.
So no worries....and thank you for responding here even though you haven't been to Copenhagen yet.
Naturally I'll post photos once we are over there.

I guess there are both pros and cons to newer technologies. I struggle with various things as well, but understand that some other things are actually helpful. It's a love/hate relationship I have with all this.

We only get 8 or 9 channels through the RV antenna at the park here. Luckily one of them is Global, which is the station I watch for news, and it’s a major network affiliate in the evening. Another channel we get plays Matlock, Beverly Hillbillies and My Three Sons in the morning. The other stations are French, TVO (educational programming), or are too garbled and pixelated to stand for long.

For the Blue Jays and major US news stations (CNN and Fox - both very helpful this week, what with the Titanic sub and the who knows what the heck that was in Russia), we have to stream through the Rogers Ignite App on the iPad and hook it up to the tv.

First World problems to be sure.

Just curious, do you or Mike speak French?
