I've never been on that in Cali, but the one in Paris is far superior to Orlando's, so I'd do that one. It's my favorite...we went on it like 7 times in a couple of days when we went there.

Pirates in Paris is a great version, I’m so sad it is down for refurbishment this coming week when I will be there. But better to have Pirates down than Big Thunder. Now that is the best version of all the Big Thunders.

I can't do Big Thunder. It wouldn't bother me a bit if that was closed, but I wouldn't want to go if Pirates wasn't open. I could just go on that over and over and be perfectly happy.

We rope dropped Mine Train again. It was closed again. We ended up doing Dumbo and Barnstormer at rope drop. 😂

Then we walked to Tomorrowland to do Buzz. However, Buzz was packed because Space was also down. So the two big rides people go to during Early Entry were down. We did the Peoplemover instead, followed by our Tron virtual queue.

Tron was a lot better the second time. My dad and I both agree on that. I think it's a combination of having a row towards the back, and having lower expectations. Still not as good as Guardians, but it's good to know that ahead of time.

Then we did Haunted Mansion, Small World, PhilharMagic, and Little Mermaid. We got a jumbo pretzel and beer cheese dip to eat. Right after we were done, it started down pouring. We snuck into Gaston's Tavern and were lucky to get a table. We got some gray stuff cupcakes. They were good, but the old ones at Be Our Guest lunch were better when it was quick service.

We poncho'd up and made our way for the exit. Like I said, we got soaked. We stopped under the train station when it was coming down the hardest. When it lightened a little we got on the monorail. By the time we were off, the rain had stopped.

We drove back to the resort to change into dry clothes, then immediately got back in the car to go to Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary.

I had the Stackhouse Burger, same as last year. It was good again. However, Homecoming now has my vote over Steakhouse 71.

Now we're back in our room. We'll head to Hollywood Studios this evening, trying to dodge the storms coming later.

Seems to me that for years, Mine Train is down more than it's up. Crazy.

So happy you rode on the Barnstormer -- that little coaster is a blast, and always been a favorite of mine. I only wish they made the ride about 5 times longer than it is! ;)
Timing is everything! I've been lucky and attempted to ride it three times since it opened and got on quickly each time. The first two were during the evening parade (they don't have one of those now) and the other was after finishing an early breakfast at "Be Our Guest". Walked out the door and right on the ride.

Tonight was a bit of a bust.

We used our LL for Rock n Roll. It broke down while we were about to load. Then we used a LL on Tower. Then we used a LL for Mickey & Minnie. It broke down when we were about to load. It was the fourth pass we couldn't use because a ride broke down. We decided we wanted to just be done with the day and head back to the hotel.

We stopped by guest relations to see if they could refund us the money for Genie+ since we literally were able to use one LL for 3 of the 5 people. Everything else shut down on us.

The CM was pretty rude and said they don't do refund, but would give us LLs to use later in the week. We said that wouldn't work because we have others joining tomorrow, and not all of us would have it. She said she couldn't do anything about that, but she'd give us two LLs to use in the future. We had 4 rides break down and weren't able to use the lanes, and she gave us 2 passes. So no refunds, and not even an equal number of passes. It was a bunch of bull, but she wasn't going to budge.

So we now have to find a time over the next three days to use them when we aren't with the others who are joining us. But we really won't have any time without them.

Late Thursday evening, I found out that my mom’s oldest sister was quite ill in hospital and that her kids and grandkids had been called to be with her. She passed away on Friday at supper time.

That’s one Auntie in December, and the other just 6 months later. If you believe this kind of stuff (and you know I do), the three sisters are reunited in Heaven. RIP, my dear Aunt Shirley.

This is probably one of the last pics of the two of them together. COVID came to town just 6 months later, during which time, they were only able to see each other three or four times. 🙁

I'm so sorry for your loss! Were they very close? At least they are together now.
