Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I havenā€™t seen one since the days of Sean Connery.

Daniel Craig is Benoit Blanc to me.
He was a better Bond than I would have expected (and I wasnā€™t expecting muchā€”JB isnā€™t blond!!) His Casino Royale was excellent. Did not care for Quantum of Solace (had to ask hubby for the name of that one). Skyfall was very good. I havenā€™t seen the last two.

My sweetie is a huge Bond fan. I hadnā€™t seen any Bond film ever before we started dating in 1982.

I get all the arguments for Connery, but I like Roger Moore, and contrary to popular opinion, thought Timothy Dalton made an excellent Bond. Though I think he and Craig had the same problem, hamstrung by bad scripts.

Since I swooned over Remington Steele as a teenager, obviously I thought that Pierce Brosnan was ideal. šŸ˜Ž

My oldest son is a huge Bond fan. Heā€™s planning on getting a Bond-something tattoo. He only recently got over his paralyzing fear of needles, so I donā€™t think it will be any day soon.

(I forget what the symbol is, and heā€™s gone to bed already.)

Hi friends!
I bet some of you can confirm some things for me as well as provide additional information.
My wife and I have just one tv in our home and it has basic cable (economy package) with Verizon Fios....this smart tv is connected to wifi. We watch Netflix and Youtube. I watch regular tv for sports and news. She's just interested in streaming. So...our one and only tv is in our den.
Now we'd like to keep that tv active just as it is but purchase a 2022 or 2023 smart tv and put it in the living room. That room has a gas fireplace and it would be nice for nighttime streaming viewing to be in there.
The plan is that we won't tell Verizon Fios because won't have cable box or watch regular broadcast channels on this 2022 or 2023 tv.
We'll just plug it in......go into that new tv's settings and connect it to the wifi and enter in our wifi password.
Having done that, I am assuming I can then click on any app the tv has preloaded and/or enjoy Netlix and or Youtube with no additional cost to my monthly cable bill.
Am I correct?
If not, set me straight.
If "Yes", is there anything else I need to know....or it's that simple?

(never mind, duplicate quote, but I can't get rid of your name!)

I showed your post to my tv-savvy husband, and he says you are correct. We have a.similar setup in our den, except that he uses an Amazon Fire stick to access the streaming apps (the fire stick is connected to the wifi)

He did tell me to pass along that if you don't have the Verizon Gigabit service, you will likely experience issues watching television over the wifi. We have only the regular Fios, and are sometimes frustrated by buffering pauses and often the sound and the picture aren't in unison.

Firstly, thank you for your post and passing along your husband's feedback.
Following up (seeking clarification) on what he said:
.......I don't know if we have "Gigibit Service"....BUT....since 2015 we've successfully watched our 2015 Samsung Smart TV as already stated for Netflix and Youtube. Once in awhile we will watch Amazon plus as well.
No buffering. No problems.
Since the new tv will connect to the same home network. and we won't use both tvs simultaneously....therefore watching the potential new tv in the same manner as we watch the current tv should work without upgrading anything....correct? šŸ¤”

Is your current tv operating over WiFi or is it connected to the cable box?

Our living room tv is wired to the cable box and we have no issues. All of our TVs are smart ones. Some of our issues maybe the distance between the tv that operates on the WiFi and the router.

I'm not very up to speed on all this stuff.

You know the saying ā€œHappy wife. Happy lifeā€?

Well in our house, itā€™s ā€œSeparate tvā€™s. Happy everybodyā€!

I admire those of you who can watch tv with your spouse. Mike and I do EVERYTHING together ā€¦ but we wonā€™t do that.

(And now Iā€™m singing Meat Loaf in my head. And out loud.)

Our HD Smart TV is connected to both. When I watch CBS, NBC, ABC,ESPN etc etc I am using the HD Cable box. When we want to watch Netflix I pick up the TV's remote...hit the smart hub button and then select Netflix. At that point the tv reaches out via the wireless network and connects to our home's wifi router. So the answer is: BOTHšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜‰

I can see how your situation would be true for many couples. I am grateful that my wife and I truly enjoy our nightly Netflix dates...year after year.
