Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

We picked up the truck today. It’s used, but with the continent-wide shortage of new trucks, that’s pretty much a given.

Ford F-250 Heavy Duty 3/4 ton. Next week (or the week after), we get the 5th wheel hitch installed, and then after a few “close to home” runs, we hope to hit the road. To where … who knows? With gas at $2.05/litre (close to $8/gallon for you), maybe not too far yet.

And our cute as a button next door neighbour who couldn’t wait to be the second person to drive it.

Hey, that's a nice little accessory to go along with your new RV! :joyfull: Happy for you and hubs.

P.S.: Your neighbor is adorable! (I don't think his legs are long enough yet, to reach the gas pedal, though.) :p

Today is officially day one of summer break for me. I wrapped up Year 5 of teaching yesterday. This year it felt more bitter than sweet. For the first time ever, I shed a few tears as kids were getting ready to leave.

Now I get to look forward to my next big adventure... going to the DMV to renew my driver's license on Wednesday!

Nice ride.
And it looks like it comes with a car attached to the rear bumper 😉

Well, you know about the A&W 1/3 pound burger that failed because people thought 1/3 was less than 1/4, so they chose the McDonald's quarter pounder over the A&W 1/3 pounder. It seems that there are a lot of people who can't do basic math.

I even had a professor in college...well, he wasn't a professor really. He was a graduate assisstant hired to teach a math class. He gave us an assignment, and someone raised their hand and asked how to do a particular problem, but he didn't know, because you had to get 15% of something, and he didn't know how to get that. There were several of us music majors in the class and we raised our hands and tried to explain that you multiply the number by .15, but he said no, it wasn't .15, it was 15%. We explained that .15 is 15% expressed as a decimal. He disagreed, but didn't know how to multiply by a percentage. The man was a complete moron who didn't know basic math, and he was teaching a math-based class. We only made it through the class because I called my now husband every night and he walked me through all the problems and I explained them to my friends. And when he came to visit, he went with me to the class and was appalled at the lack of basic math this Grad showed. We got a take home test and my husband sat and did the test with us and we all just changed one answer slightly so it wouldn't be suspected that we worked together We would have all failed simply because the teacher didn't know the subject matter.

convert it to hydro (electric) then you dont have to worry about gas

Not practical for our needs.

The cost to convert is in the stratosphere. Our trailer weighs 11,000 lbs loaded, meaning only the highest end electric engine would work, and the towing distance for that weight is sub-200 miles between charges.

Also, very few charging stations are set up to accommodate the length of our trailer and truck end to end. The trailer alone is 32’ 8”, plus the bit of exposed bed, the double crew cab, and then hood and bumper. It’s HUGE!

We’re going to have to suck it up and just look at the cost of travelling is offset by not having to pay for hotel lodging and restaurant meals. We bought this for the adventure. The cost of fuel is just part of the adventure. 😂
