Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Does this mean that a whole group of houses has been built and ready for sale? Or, does it mean that just one (sample) home has been built -- to entice future buyers? I know that a few times a year, you sell a new group of homes, and was just wondering if you're back to work full-time now. (Also, does the QR code request their proof of vaccination status?)
It’s one singular leftover home that was used as a makeshift Construction Office. This will put a period on this project for me.

Mike and I are sharing a new virtual release for a small project early next month.

While we’re doing that, we also have some virtual weekend gigs for various projects.

And then late fall, I am going back to Whitby for the third and final phase there.

Then we’ll see what the spring brings. 🙂

QR code does not request vaccination status. It’s primarily for contact tracing.

This site looked bizarrely strange to me when I logged in today. That’s because my Premium Membership expired and I was seeing ads.

All fixed now. Is it worth 19 cents/day (plus USD exchange) not to see ads? You betcha! Plus, I like to support the site. I’ve not been here as often as usual because you know, pandemic; but the friends I’ve made here are invaluable, and worth every penny.

We all love you, too, Jennifer!

If that were true you would pay for my fee's to be a part of the elite. I can't speak for others, but I can't wait for you to do the thing that will make all those pesky ads disappear for me too, eh. 😍🥺😭😉

its been quite in here
I've spent pretty much full work days setting up my classroom this week. I think today was day 8 of classroom setup, and all but one of those was pretty much a full work day. I finished pretty much everything up today, so I won't go back in until Monday to get things ready for Open House, which is next Thursday. My contract doesn't officially start until Wednesday, but we don't have hardly any classroom worktime on either of our professional days, when normally we get a full day.

I'm glad you got your classroom set up the way you want but I gave the sad face that you had to do it on your own time and that summer is ending.

It took a lot longer this year because it's pretty much setting up a brand new classroom. And I'm used to having a huge room, and now I've gone down to quite a bit smaller space. So fitting things in was a challenge. I also bought a sound wall on TpT that took a long time to laminate, cut out, and then space out on my whiteboards. Throw a few meetings in those days, too, and you get a pretty long setup process.

It honestly felt kind of like being a first year teacher again. I had to do everything new. The only difference is I know what to expect, but sometimes that can just take even more time.

Also, I realized today that my first class ever are now in middle school. How did time go by so fast?!

Just wait until your first class graduates! Oh and then when you get a student that is the child of one of your former students! Haha, then you'll wonder where the time has gone!

I'm one of the veterans in our building now. I'm the middleist in the longevity order. I figured it out this summer on a long car ride. I think I've been there longer than 17 teachers, and 17 have been there longer than me. I am tied with two others in the middle since we were hired the same year.

I'm quickly becoming one of the old timers. This will be my 22nd school year. :cautious:🤓

Year 5 for me! I'm have the second longest tenure on my team. The one who has been teaching 1st grade longer has only done it one more year than me. Before that she taught kindergarten for 18 years. But this will be the first year my team has stayed exactly the same as the year before. The group of four we have now has been together for three years, but our first year together we had a larger class, so we had a 5th teacher. Last year we went down to 4 classes, and we're staying at 4 this year. Not that it's a bad thing to get a new teammate, but it does make things a lot easier when we've been working together for a while. And our team works really well together.

I have even more experience than you. You seem young to me. I'm am truly old!
Seriously
Our School District has 6 Elementary Schools
2 Middle Schools
2 High Schools
Out of every teacher in the district that teaches vocal or instrumental music....I have the most seniority.
2 years ago there was an elementary band director that retired after 52 years of teaching.
I wonder if some day I'll tie his record? o_O:eek:

Talk about tenure... I have now officially been out of any long term, formal educational activity for 53 years. That takes effort!
