Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Interesting idea, it might work well in some classes like math, English or social studies. I don’t know how well that would work in my room. I have two person tables. Since I teach science I’m concerned how I’m going to have them do experiments, they usually do them in groups or pairs.
Do they sit at lab tables? I remember in my high school science classes, we always sat at lab tables. I think this setup would be fine for standard classes, but anything like Music, Art, PE where they don't have desks would be difficult. Then there's stuff like lunch and recess. In my music room, I had plastic bleachers that the kids sat on, rather than chairs/desks. And in the elementary schools, kids always ate in the gym...they had these pull-down picnic type tables built into the walls, like a murphy bed, but then tables. And each class had its own table. Cases have started rising again here. We were down to about 50 new cases per day here a few weeks ago, and the other day they said there were 144 new ones in one day, so triple where we were a few weeks ago. Not sure what they are going to do. One of the officials wants to do a mask mandate, but another says it's too hard to enforce, and they noticed that very few are observing the distancing rules. 🤷‍♀️ I kind of just want to lock myself in and hibernate. I don't know what they'll do with schools if this keeps up....I swear I read that teens and tweens are a huge source of the spread, but now I don't remember where I read it and for all I know, I dreamed it.

The list of states that are supposed to quarantine when they get to NY is up to 39. And NY/NJ/CT have formed an alliance and are considering themselves one region so out of 47 total states, 39 have metrics that our state has deemed a concern. It’s definitely not over.

Yeah I have lab tables. Like this:

I have 15 of them and they just barely all fit in my room so if they stay the kids won't be social distancing.

I was initially annoyed the Mets game is at 4pm. I'd much rather sit back and watch baseball at the end of the day. Well there's a 70% chance of rain/thunderstorms from 4-8pm and then the possibility drops to 10%? I am hoping they just delay the start and don't stop/start all afternoon.

We had a shared science lab for 6th grade that a couple science teachers used. In 7th grade our classroom had built in lab tables, but then also the individual tables. In 8th grade I think we just had individual tables. The biology classroom in high school didn't have any built ins, but did have those fire resistant black tables. The chemistry classroom had the individual tables, but then a lab next door with built ins. The physics room just had tables.

Governor Baker (MA) has issued a travel order today about a 14-day quarantine (except for people from the New England states and New York):

Europe is seeing an increase again, so a lot of countries are rolling back on their reopenings. Austria is mandating masks in public when just a few weeks ago they were almost fully reopened other than social distancing. The Dutch government is considering a mask mandate. Some of the politicians think it will be too hard to enforce, but the Dutch CDC did an about face regarding masks. They previously said they didn't believe in the benefit of them, but now they do. And mayors are asking for authority to mandate quarantine for people coming from hotspots.
