Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Quick hello - just figured I should let you all know that I am well but probably leaving the forums for good. I've had more than considerable time lately to evaluate my priorities, and I've pretty much come to the painful conclusion that I'm really just not a part of most topics here anymore. I guess my age is catching up with me, and frankly I don't want to be remembered as the cranky old lady from wdwmagic. I love you guys dearly, but I think it's time for me to leave. Some of you have my e-mail and/or phone number, so feel free to keep in touch that way. ((hugs))

bummer @Nemo14 . I am glad though that you seemed to have come out ok with your recent health concerns. I wish you all the best and I will think of you whenever we dine at the Biergarten.

I don't know what to say. I hope it's not because of anything that's been said on here. You will be missed, but I understand if it's something you need to do for you. Would you consider popping in once in a while to let us know you are ok? Even if it's just once or twice a year. You don't have to read through the thread or respond to anything....just let us know everything is alright.

I know some of you are puzzle people, and I was wondering if you've ever done a Wasgij puzzle? We are working on one at my in-laws' house. wasgij.jpg

What's on the box is not what the puzzle looks like. There's a bird with a coin in its beak and your puzzle is its perspective. It's pretty challenging, because you don't even see everything on the picture that will be in the puzzle. My MIL didn't understand how it works, so she was confused that there were puzzle pieces that didn't look like the picture. I'll have to get a picture when it's finished, hopefully next week.

Sorta reminds me of a couple puzzles my parents collected back in the 80's. The silly characters look very similar. There was one of a large picnic / day at a park near a lake. Another of downtown San Francisco, and another of downtown Atlanta... each showing the characters enjoying key attractions of each city.

The puppy slept great last night!
Lights out at 2:30 ... I took her down to pee when I got up to do the same at 5:00 ... and then she slept until almost 11:00.

I should be well rested; bright eyed and bushy-tailed, no? No.

The new(ish) idiot neighbours two doors down also had a fire last night. Unlike us, they did not pipe down at 11:00, and pack it up by 1:00.

No, they kept going until 5:30. The sun was rising and the birds were singing before they gave up drunk karaoke “I Want it That Way” and took Samuel L. Jackson’s advice and went the **** to sleep.

Even Mike who can sleep through the height of Hurricane Irma said that was their one free pass. Next time, he’s calling the cops.

Wow.....you are patient. I would have called the cops already. Well, I would have asked them to please be quiet as we were trying to sleep, but then if they didn't listen, I'd have called the cops.

Without hesitation, I would have called. If they were the type of good neighbors that this was just a one-off time (graduation celebration, etc.), I'd let it go. But, it doesn't sound that way at all to me.

Everybody gets one free pass.

Like us, their backyard is 180’ long, and their fire-pit is way at the end like ours. Maybe they thought being so far away would dilute the noise. Ummm no.

The new(ish) neighbours two doors down the other side absolutely lost their minds.

I think we can sit back and let them be the bad guys next time it happens.

My brother’s first wife got into a dispute with their neighbours decades ago, and even though she was in the right, the situation became so untenable that it ended being the reason my brother moved.

To be fair, I probably could have just gotten up and closed all the windows, but seriously, I just kept thinking that they were surely wrapping up any minute now.

Maybe they’re vampires, and the sun rising and the birds tweeting finally forced them in.

Perhaps I was thinking about neighbors you've mentioned in the past that were often loud. I was assuming this particular house was the "noisy" house. If it's not, I understand the first Get Out of Jail Free card.

Wait!!! Are you saying that you stayed up most of the night when all you had to do was close your windows? I don't even know what to say about that. They shouldn't have been making all that noise, I agree, but the only thing between you and a nights rest was getting up and closing your windows is just hard for me to wrap my brain around. Oh, well maybe they will be quieter tonight. ;) 🙂

Reminds me of problems some local campgrounds have been having over recent years with drunken loud parties running off people wanting to enjoy camping peacefully in nature. They do a good job posting signs to "Please keep noise down after 10pm and be respectful of other campers", etc. But those signs are not nearly as comprehended as they were years ago.

Apparently shutting the windows might have helped, but wouldn’t have eliminated the noise altogether.

The next door neighbours, an extra 50’ away than us, heard everything too .... with their windows closed, because they all have allergies.

Also, I didn’t go to bed until 2:30, and I just kept thinking that they were almost done. I mean, not even I can stay up until 5:30 anymore. Except of course, I CAN, because I DID last night. 🤬
