Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I think we're going to continue with the direct to home release trend for a while. But like anything else, once it becomes commonplace, will people ever go back to theaters. I'm afraid the regular theater experience might follow the path of drive-ins.

We haven't been in probably 4 years at this point. It wasn't just the high prices, but the fact that idiots in the audience wanted to continually turn on their cell phones during the movie -- very distracting and obnoxious. Some would even take a call, like they're in their own livingroom?! :banghead:

Once in a while we buy a movie; and considering we both watch it, it comes out cheaper for the two of us, than going to a theater. Big screens and sound are nice in a theater, but I'm happy watching movies at home (especially when you can put it on pause, if you need to replenish snacks or duck out to the bathroom). ;)

This is the Canadian military. We call ourselves “Peacekeepers”, remember?

Some will apparently be cleaning, changing sheets, delivering food .... More than half are actually medical personnel.

Untrained hands are better than no hands.
Partially trained hands are even better.
Medically trained hands are ideal.

I can’t find today’s numbers, but these are from yesterday: “The ministry also indicated there are 2,287 confirmed cases among long-term care residents and 1,089 cases among staff.”

Wow, I must have been a little overconfident in my statement. You beat the odds and I stand corrected.:) For now we will call it a Trumpism. All that you listed makes sense now, I was only thinking about the general military population. Peacekeepers are still trained to be bad in the event of a problem. My only question is if you take those medically savvy and put them in the public sector what happens when military personnel get sick?

Yup. My third time was NYE day with @InnKpr and Mike, so I’m at zero too.

Spenser and I were supposed to see Knives Out, but our schedules never meshed.

Bummer, I LOVE going to the theatre.

I have a movie count of 1 for the year. We had an opportunity to go to a Leap Day screening of Onward then we had dinner at Olive Garden afterward. Have you seen Knives Out yet? I rented it through Apple/iTunes and my husband and I both really enjoyed it. We had planned to see it in the theater too but like you we just couldn't get a schedule match.

Taking a call like they're in their living room 😆. That really made me laugh.

I feel like high prices and obnoxious people seem to be the trend...not just at the movies, but all over the place.

I really enjoyed Knives Out as well. I love a classic mystery.

It's a classic 😆. Many years ago my brother-in -law made a pair of those shoes to wear to a charity disco event we have here...with real goldfish in them! I'll have to dig around and find some of the pics.
That’s awesome. My college roommate and I used tonwatch it ALL the time. There was a wing place near campus that I’m sure regretted adding ribs to the menu. I Love the scene in The 40 Year Old Virgin when Jonah Hill tries to buy a pair from the We Sell on eBay store.

I should watch that - been meaning to.

I heard drive-ins might have a resurgence. I hope so. Every vacant field here is being turned into houses and condos it would be awesome to slap up a screen and make a drive in!

Yay, @MinnieM123 is up! Did someone forget to tell her she is retired?

Me, I am having tea, heading to bed soon.

Let me tell you one thing - Mike and I will not be going to WDW under any scenario that involves having to wear a mask in the parks. Don’t ask.
Same.

Well that settles it! Dang missed @ajrwdwgirl ’s quote. 2 thumbs up is good enough for me!

You've prompted me to want to see it again. Adding to my list of things to watch this week! I forgot about the Jonah Hill scene in 40 yov 🤣.

A resurgence of the drive-in would be amazing!
