Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

These are all from 2019.
Symbolica in the daylight:
(The huge treasure chest on the right there is actually an ATM if I remember correctly.)

Here's my son running across the bridge between 2 areas of the park:
DSC00925.JPG

We did not do this ride. It's a roller coaster that has a steep plunge at the end, like splash mountain, but not.
DSC00929.JPG

Here's one my son likes...I really do not, but what can you do? It's basically boats that are on a track, and they go around the whale...the whale spits water sometimes.

Here are my husband and daughter on the swinging ship:

Another bridge, going between sections:

Their version of the teacups: (sorry, it's blurry)

This is their version of IASW, which I have never been on.

And some typical Dutch snacks...you will find these wherever you go in the Netherlands, so also at Efteling.

This is probably the most popular, and I don't care for it. It's called Frikandel. This one with the onions, mayo, and a sort of curry ketchup on it is called a Frikandel Speciaal.
DSC01017.JPG

My daughter and I are more likely to get these. Kipcorn, which is kind of like a long chicken nugget with a cornflake crust, and then a kaas souflee which is a sort of liquidy cheese in a pocket of dough and bread crumbs. Unlike Disney, the food at Efteling is not an attraction. This is pretty much it for quick service, and sit down places are not great, in our experience.
DSC01015.JPG

This is one of the kids' favorites. They go over and over.
DSC01023.JPG

The train station. Also unlike Disney, this train is not really a great attraction. It's cute, but you don't get to see much. It's nice to sit for a while, but it takes a long time and most of what you see is not themed parts of the park.
DSC01033.JPG

I'm really sorry....these are horrible, but it's my favorite attraction. Droomvlucht (Dreamflight). So I have to post a couple...you can probably look up a ride through on youtube. But it's just a darkride.

More Fairytale Forest

DSC01144.JPG

Rapunzel
DSC01151.JPG

These toadstools are actually speakers. They play....Minuet in G I think it is? Somewhere, there's a tree with a window in it and you see a gnome composing music or playing it.

DSC01154.JPG

There's a golden crown in the treasure chest, and if you pull on it, the dragon wakes up.
DSC01156.JPG

This is a window show of Cinderella:
DSC01171.JPG

This tree tells stories all day. There are little benches for the kids to go and sit, and I think it's kind of like Turtle Talk, in that it interacts with the kids and asks them questions and such.
DSC01183.JPG

This is right near one of the entrances to the fairytale forest. I THINK it might be the way to get to the Indian Waterlillies, which is a favorite of mine.

This is from the Indian Waterlillies:

I have some other random pictures....a lot more from the Fairytale forest, but these are my favorites. They also have the donkey that poops gold coins, they have some that I don't even know the names of in English....fairytales I'm not sure we have. Certainly not what I grew up with, but they also have vignettes of several tales, like the Emporer's new clothes, The wolf and the 7 little goats, etc. And then they have the little shows like the waterlillies that are just a room where the show plays every couple of minutes and you can walk in, watch it, and walk out...they don't close it off when a show is going, but you can stay as many shows as you like. The bad part is there is no seating.

Outside of the Fairytale forest, there are some coasters...I thought I had pictures of my husband on them, but I'm not finding them. Oh....I guess those are from 2017:

That one he did early in the morning, so it's not very light, and it was overcast that morning.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
First time in 10 years (to the best of my knowledge) that we haven’t had a Denninger’s ham and a bunch of family over for dinner. Also, first year EVER that we didn’t do Easter gifts and chocolate for the boys. It just didn’t seem that important this year.

Still, I am thankful as ever this Easter for all the things that I am always thankful for ... Family, friends, shelter, plentiful food, health, but mostly salvation.

Not ham:

We had ham, it was ham that I had frozen up from our Christmas Eve dinner. We also had cheesy hashbrowns and cheese tartlets from Christmas Eve too. For other food I did make the bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy, and the scrambled eggs with fresh cut chives and feta today. It might not be a pretty plate but it was tasty.

And we got some Easter snow.

Like for the meal, not the snow.

I just finished House of Cards. The whole season didn't make any sense. It was all over the place. I was lost and confused through most of it. The whole season, but especially the ending, felt very anti-climactic, I think in part to there not being an coherent plot. Not a fan of the ending, but in the early seasons it was one of my favorite shows.

Happy Easter to those who observe today.

I'm a little late (okay, really late) with the exchanging of Easter e-cards, but since there's still over half an hour left in the day, it still counts.

I hope everyone enjoyed their day, and found happiness despite the crazy world we currently live in.

There's over an hour and a half for some of us. We central time zoners are so often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of the east coast. *drinks my milk and eats my cheese*

What are some other examples where the queue is better than the ride? One that comes to mind is Journey of the Little Mermaid. I also really love the PotC and FoP queues, but the rides are fantastic as well. Same goes for EE.

My least favorite queues are Soarin' and BTM.

Depending on how you feel about motion-sickness, the Hogwarts castle walkthrough can surpass the actual ride. That queue is an attraction in it's own right.

As for Disney... TSMM maybe? Was never too overly-impressed with the ride, but the retro board games, toys/decor, and Mr. Potato Head in the queue were all neat to look at. Mind you, I haven't been since any changes (if there were any) for the opening of TSL.
