Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Friday is my last scheduled “bundle of care” (ie - free, as part of the gov’t paid post op care) physio appointment. I believe I am entitled to four more if the therapist approves it.

Given that I am not a regular patient of this clinic, I already know that they are willing to extend it.

I’m not sure it’s worth the risk. It’s a very different set up compared to my regular clinic. Everybody in one big room ... using the same equipment ... no hand sanitizer at each station.

Most of these folks are just a couple of weeks from leaving the hospital. Most are much older, which makes them more vulnerable to the virus. I’m thinking the risk outweighs the benefits.

I have my prescribed exercises. I have an Exercycle. My wobble board was delivered this morning. I think I’m good to go. I need to keep doing what I’m doing. I need time to pass and basic healing to continue. And I need to just accept that sometimes you will just have days that feel like one step forward/two steps back.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't risk it unless you really feel you need it. We've cancelled all the home visiting people because I definitely feel it is not worth the risks of strangers unknowingly bringing the virus into my home.

I second this.

Also, she could stand in the middle of the room while her son blasts at her feet with his Nerf gun.

You're such a big help! (. :hilarious: )

@JenniferS , weighing in on whether to keep up your PT visits, it really depends upon how you are feeling. If you weren't concerned about germs from a virus, how would that affect your decision?

In other words, let's say where you are now, was not today, but hypothetically last October. So, if it was last Oct., would you still continue on with the PT to help you recover, or would you feel that you were well enough long in your recovery, that you could easily handle the rest of it at home?

Basically they only thing he is doing (that doesn’t involve equipment I already own) is a little bit of massage and rubbing. I do that all day anyway.

He gave me my exercises at the first appointment. Same ones I’m supposed to do for the next 4-6 months.

My first priority is not catching anything before 3/28. I have a big opening that day; a date that was selected based on my surgical schedule. Tens of thousands of dollars have been spent on marketing. It cannot be postponed.

I will absolutely pay out of pocket and go back to my regular clinic after the grand opening. Barring any kind of COVID market collapse, we should sell out very quickly. After that, I’m off until my new site opens in October.

I’m only at this particular clinic because it’s free. After spending more than $3K on PT last year, I kinda like free.

That all makes good sense, and sounds like a workable plan. (Don't tell Nemo--she disdains logic.) :joyfull:

Tom Hanks and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus. Please stay healthy!

Earlier tonight I did think about how we hadn't heard any celebrities getting it.

EDIT: Saw Jennifer's post. I missed an alert for the thread.
NBA has just announced they are suspending the rest of the season. March Madness is surely next, no?
