Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

@JenniferS , do you attend church services on Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day? We have the option of either, but I just can't imagine not going on Christmas Day, itself. There are services the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Also, they have a midnight mass; but considering most nights I'm asleep by 9:30, that one doesn't work for me. So I go to church on Christmas morning.

I was just wondering about Christmas traditions in Canadian churches. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Our church offers both Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning services. The evening service is at 7:00’ish, which still leaves the rest of the evening to join my brothers and their families.

Christmas Eve last year was in fact, the last time that I saw my brother Mark before he passed 5 weeks later, so I expect there will plenty of tears shed this year. Mostly by me. (Maybe even as I type.)

When Mike was working at the convent, we used to attend midnight mass with the nuns. That was kind of special too.

I hope you will be able to enjoy the service you attend, but I understand the loss of your brother will be on your mind as well. :(

Please keep one thing in mind: he would want you to have a very happy Christmas and not be sad.

Two years later, I am still intrigued.

I remember when you shared the story of this couple. Hard to believe that was 2 years ago -- and still unsolved.

He was a Nun?

He was a Nun?
For Hallowe’en one year, yes.

He worked at the Convent for 18 years. We got married in the chapel there.

It sold this year to Columbia College, and the remaining nuns were dispersed. His brother, who has worked there for 37 (?) years, retired last month. End of an era.

I’ve climbed that bell tower. Not a Hunchback to be seen.

But was Nicolas Cage up there trying to find the next clue to the treasure?

Okay, I’m all caught up. Hurry up Sunday!
(The question is - do I sneak in a pre-viewing before then?)

Some Tweets have gone out from the premiere and some suggest there’s backtracking from TLJ. Two people who loved that movie don’t seem to like this one. Good. The overall story is shot but at least this might be enjoyable now.

I really struggled with your first sentence ....
Premier? Premier who? Premier Ford? And why would you be reading Premier Ford’s tweets?

And that right there is the difference between Canadians and Americans. It’s almost like y’all live in a different country or something.

I don’t even know which one is correct. I was hoping my phones autocorrect would handle it.

Many of us are starting to wish we did. If you guys would turn up the thermostat up there I might consider going that way.

Aaaah my friend, as much as you might admire Monsieur Trudeau, I can guarantee that Doug Ford will not be your cup of tea. 😉
I don't admire Mr. Trudeau, but I have a worse thing to dislike that makes him look like a candidate for sainthood. When comparing it becomes painfully clear you guys have a wonderful life. If only it were snowless. It was 70 here today. Actually I have an X-brother and sister in law via marriage, that live in British Columbia. I should check and see if they would take me in. I haven't spoken with them in over 20 years, but we weren't angry just lost contact due to distance. I'm sure they would be thrilled to have me stay with them. I'd even start to drink coffee from Timmy's place and choke down Coffee Crisp Candy (eech) Bars.

Funny back during the Vietnam War people were literally running to Canada and I lived only 20 miles from the border, but chose to stay behind. Now my brain tells me that this is going to be worse then a war.
