Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

They got today's temps wrong. A couple days ago they said it'd be above freezing. Instead it's 23, but with the 35 mph winds and 60 mph gusts, it feels like 6. Snow possible on Tuesday and Friday.

We got snow last night and are still in a blizzard warning. The snow isn't falling anymore but the wind is whipping it around like crazy. The dog wouldn't travel off the step until she got a path shoveled for her because the snow drifts were taller than her, so I shoveled and now that is all drifted too. We have the same snow possible for Tuesday and Friday. Winter can end now.:grumpy:

Yeah, the blowing snow is crazy here today. I would much rather take back the extreme colds at this point than the snow.

It’s above freezing here, but we’re getting the wind gusts too. Our patio table top decided to fly the coop. Unfortunately it didn’t get too far and now exists as a pile of little pieces of glass. :(
The wind just started here. Peak gusts of 110 km/h. Technically, that’s considered speeding on every single highway in the province.

I just looked at the forecast, and now there's a chance of snow every day through Saturday. 3 to 5 inches expected on Friday night.

We had to reschedule our holiday party back in January because of a big snow storm. Guess when it was rescheduled for? Yep. Friday night.

Just got a call from my school district, we are closed tomorrow. We are still under blizzard conditions until around midnight and no plows are going out on the roads in our county until 4 am tomorrow. I only live a couple blocks from school, so I think I'll still go in and do some of the make up hours I have to do. I have never been so honestly unhappy to have so many school closures in my life! We haven't had a fully week of school since the first full week of January and we are in the 5th week of the quarter. I'm getting so behind on my lesson track. Sorry, rant over.... :grumpy:

I'm so ready to get back into routine. I feel like I haven't been productive since before winter break. I did achieve something, though. I finally finished unit 5 in math and got all the assessments done in small groups on Friday. I can start unit 6 tomorrow! I literally started unit 5 on January 2. I didn't finish it until February 22. It was a heavy unit, too, and I'm so ready to be done with it.

I hear you, I should be well out of stuff I'm doing too. I think the kids are starting to feel it a little too. One of my students was talking to me on Friday and she said she feels so unorganized and scattered with all these days off. She said it was hard to remember some of the assignments and what we've learned so far. I sympathized and said I felt scattered too.

We've been saying how out of routine we are as teachers and how we are forgetting to do things that we normally do. We can only imagine how out of routine the kids must be. They can't remember what day of the week it is, and they never know when we have school and when we don't.

I'll be happy when it's next weekend. First, I'm thinking this will be our first full week in a long time which will seem extra long. Second, we have conferences until 7:30 Tuesday and Thursday nights. Those are always long nights, and long days the following day. Which means this will be a long week.

Ron White nailed it. It’s not THAT the wind is blowing ... it’s WHAT the wind is blowing. 😉

That being said, I am shocked to learn that in-town schools are open this morning. All of the county and out of town schools (within our Board) are closed and Zone 1-3 school buses are cancelled though.

I can SEE the elation on kids’ faces this morning when they see this familiar yellow warning on the website ...

... and then the total disappointment when they read that last line. 😂

Tomorrow afternoon through the night we are supposed to get approximately 1-3 inches of snow, possibly some freezing rain mixed in. That's a good time to be driving home in the dark after a long night of conferences.
