Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

All of this talk of cold weather is making me realize how much of a winter wimp I've become after all of these years in Houston. I handled four downright frigid, seemingly endless winters in Syracuse and grew up in NY metro area NJ (and a little in OH), but it was about 35 outside this morning and I looked like I was heading out for a trek in the frozen tundra! :coldfeet: It's 67 in the house right now and I'm debating about adding a layer! :hilarious: Thinking about buying a propane heater for our softball tournament next weekend since highs probably won't get out of the 50s. :D

After lunch (Culver's!!) we drove down to Myakka. we've been there dozens of times, and never get tired of it. Today there were lots of Roseate Spoonbills around, and a few gators, although not as many as we usually see. We watched a Great Blue Heron catch a catfish, which was pretty neat too.

a few pics from today:

We started the day at Selby Gardens in Sarasota. You might remember the pics I posted last year of the Costa Rican masks on display, so today was the last day of this year's display. Still pretty impressive:

Wow!! You know, you may have damaged your "favorite" camera, but whatever the heck you're using now, it certainly takes some outstanding photos!!
Thanks. I really miss the old camera though, especially for the eyepiece. When the sun is bright, it's really hard to focus with just the screen.

That being said, the photo of the Spoonbill was incredible.

I know nothing about photography techniques, etc., but sometimes I've taken pictures with older crappy cameras and a few would turn out great--in spite of me! Every now and then I'd nail it with just the perfect angle, lighting, etc. Sometimes, it's just luck, really.
