Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Believe it’s gold and Diamond. And only continental...typically. Lol.
I'm not particularly fussed....especially with the incredible rate we got in the height of tourist season. It's still a steal. There were a few deals even cheaper, but the places were all like motel 6 and such....doubletree is a completely different class. And from the pictures @JenniferS posted, doubletree has really nice rooms. I'd rather pay a few bucks more for a place I know is going to be decent than get the cheapest available and then find out it's a roach motel.

I hated kneeling the bus, especially in the winter. I would try and find a curb and pull very close to it so it was just a 2 inch step down. The problem was that Ice Crystals would form in the air lines blocking them and sometimes they wouldn't come back up. When lowered they lock up the brakes automatically and the bus couldn't move or sometimes it would come back up but not stop where they were supposed to and it filled the airbags full which left the bus feeling like it had no suspension at all. But, I'm sure if you aren't "one of those passengers" he just did it to be courteous. I know I never really tried of gauge by age, more by physical dexterity. There's nothing scarier then having one of those airbags burst and having the bus drop down to the axle while traveling along the street. It sounds like an explosion.

I had a person that rode my shuttle bus at the Airport a couple years ago that screamed at me because I didn't lower the bus. Even after I explained to her that the type of buses we had for shuttle did not have that feature in any of them so the only way I could lower the bus was to let the air out of the tires. (the last part I was saying to myself) Didn't stop her from complaining all the way back to the Rental location and then told the manager that I was to lazy to "push the button" to lower the bus. She never did accept that there wasn't one on the bus at all.

Yah, the kneeling buses have issues. Sometimes I cringe when I see them lowered, because I'm always afraid the bus will break down (yes, it's happened). :banghead:

The driver I had the other day looked new, and actually lowered it for a few other people, who got on at other stops (although he didn't do that for teenagers who got on . . . :cautious: ). Maybe he thought he was supposed to lower it for adults only that day. ;) Anyway, most drivers don't lower it unless they see someone with a cane, or carrying a bunch of bags, etc.

It would be hard to fault them for trying to do a good job. It's just that experienced drivers only take the chance when they feel it is necessary. Newbie's are so cute! :D
To be clear, I am only talking about winter and cold weather. We were supposed to do it whenever we stopped in the warmer weather. It becomes a choice, have someone mad at you because you didn't kneel the bus or the whole damn bus upset because we can't move.

I really don't think it's a requirement for our city buses here. I think the drivers use their judgement for the most part. Also, only a percentage of our buses have the lift anyway. (More and more they're adding them, but they still use a variety of buses.)

By the way, and you'll appreciate this -- the drivers I've talked to over the years all preferred the older buses from back in the 80s, 90s, etc. They were far superior in handling snow and ice, compared to the newer buses that have all the newest bells and whistles--but they'd take an older bus any day, over the newer ones in the winter.

Si.
I love riding in chairlifts!! So many of the (ski) resorts, for example, changed over to gondolas years ago, so finding a chairlift for a scenic ride is very exciting! You two are having way too much fun!

After mini golf, we went out for dinner. We checked in at Outback, and were told an hour wait. Mike ran across the road to Longhorn’s and they said 35 minutes, so we all headed over there, and then 10-15 mins later I get a text from Outback that our table is ready.

Anyway, I’ll leave it to you to figure out where we ate.
