Dinner at The Keg last Friday, a thanks-for-helping-us-move dinner from my bro.

Apps:

(Bro's shrimp. Scampi, I think.)


(SIL's slightly blurry Caesar salad.)


(Hubby's yucky calamari.)


(My oh-so yummy crab cakes with home-made tartar sauce.)

Entrees:

(Bro's steak w/shrimp skewer. He accidentally chose salad for his side, so I ordered my garlic mashed on the side to give to him. I'm cool like that.)


(SIL's still mooing steak.)


(Hubby's steak Oscar. Ordered medium well. Served well.)


(My steak and shrimp skewer with Asian slaw. Asian slaw was so gross! Steak was over-done. Again. As was my anniversary dinner steak. )


(Garlic mashed. I kept one forkful and gave the rest to my brother. Big mistake - it was the best part of the entree.)

Fried calimari I'm fine with. A friend ordered octopus in front of me a few weeks ago though and that was gross to look at. Could clearly see all the suction cups .

While the rest of us will be having pork chops and apple sauce, pan fries done on the BBQ, corn on the cob, and home-made coleslaw, Son #2 is going to eat this carp:




It looks slightly better cooked, but having tasted it (once!), I'm willing to bet it actually tastes better frozen.
