Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Reminds me of a childhood memory. Background... were she alive she would have been 100 years old this October. Her life was entranced in old wives tales and rural interpretations. She was a city girl, but, my Dad lived on a farm for a large portion of his youth. Anyway, whenever we would pass by a pasture and the cows were lying down (not feet up) she would always, always prompt my Dad with they question... Why do cows lay down? She would be searching for confirmation that what she had heard (herd, get it) was that it meant that there was a storm heading in. My father would always answer with... Because they are tired of standing! Sorry, just a little ancient humor that I thought I might share.

Just got back from a week at Woodloch Pines resort in Pennsylvania. It’s a lakeside resort with all sorts of activities like go-karts, batting cages, kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards, water skiing, rock climbing wall, synthetic ice rink, indoor pools, outdoor pools, waterslides, bingo, trivia, evening shows, etc. We were there for the week with 2 other families and a fourth family joined our house on Wednesday. Then 4 other families joined in 2 other houses on Wednesday. There were 36 of us all together and each age group of kids had about 6 of them traveling as a pack. The kids had their freedom to roam, the parents had their time to relax and we only used our phones to find each other. It was good old fashioned family fun. Everyone got along, everyone helped out, everyone cleaned up. You would think traveling with that many people would be a nightmare but that’s what made it amazing.

Awesome! Sounds like a neat resort.

Sounds like a great week! I don't think I'm capable of getting along with 35 people in real life. lol
If it were 35 relatives from my family, I probably would've grabbed one of the kayaks and disappeared for awhile.

No more farm?
Finally got it listed last month. Just have horse property now with 4 pastures, but not enough acreage to do my own hay. Still trying to get settled in - just got the last 4 stalls in last weekend. I’m waiting for it to cool off a bit so I can get back to upgrading the pasture fencing. The stuff I didn’t get to last fall is a bit shaky! 😮

I hated haying back in the day. Once we got a baler it was a little easier, but still a hot and sweaty job!

I had an old John Deere drop baler, so I would do a few hundred small bales and then hire someone to do the big squares for me. Then I would sell anything that didn’t fit into the barn. I’d almost break even...
