Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Be like me and stay indoors.
So one has to wonder... we all listened to the upset about the snow, cold and miserable weather all winter. Now it is summer with heat and humidity. And it is mostly the same ones that are complaining about both. One must make up ones mind. Do you want winter with the cold, high cost of staying warm, dangerous driving and did I mention cold? Or do you want warm weather where you don't have to find a coat to go outside, you can do things like swim, boating, baseball games, flowers, trees with leaves and did I mention warm enough to not need a coat? It seems that it should be one side or the other and all complaints should be limited to the opposite of which one we want to experience. Choose a side and be loyal. or :cold:

Much rather be hot. And for the record, I'm not complaining. Heat doesn't bother me as much as cold does.

Well, to be honest... I didn't name any names, but, everyone knows who they are! I am very much like you. I could no longer deal with cold and winter, so I moved to the south, not all the way down cause I still like a semblance of seasons, but, I didn't want anymore of the harshness and the expense of trying to stay warm. My heating fuel bills alone used to hit close to $2.5K a year (not counting my electricity bill which was around $1.5K per year) and now my heating, cooling, lights, and other utilities are only about $1300.00 per year total. For that much savings I can handle a few uncomfortably hot days.

I wouldn't complain about the heat if there were a way to get out of it here. But without air conditioning, this heat wave we're just coming out of is brutal. 5 weeks of temperatures in the 90s, a couple of those weeks in the upper 90s or into the 100s. And my body just doesn't handle it well. People at work were dropping like flies from heat exhaustion, but what can you do about that? At least with cold, you can put on another sweater, grab a blanket...there's just nothing to do about the heat if you don't have air conditioning. Imagine how much you'd complain about winter if you didn't have heat in your home or at work. If there was no place you could go to get relief from that cold, and it wasn't just a few days but weeks on end, you'd be extremely uncomfortable...and that's where I am with the heat. Thank goodness it's finally cooling down. You won't have to listen to me complain for long.

That I can totally agree with. It can get unbearably hot no matter where one lives, but, in climates that are usually cooler, AC is not really seriously considered or at least not efficient enough to make it pleasant. I don't think any of us would have moved down here before the invention of central AC. We have two months of bearable cold weather. Middle December through middle February when our heat pumps do the trick of keeping us warm. Without central air, I would be just a big puddle of melted grease by now. So, even though it is a steady 71 degrees in my apartment I do feel sorry for those without that luxury. My daughter and her family are currently visiting Vermont to attend a wedding. The places they are staying have only a couple of window AC's and even though it is cooler there I'll bet that they are going to be complaining upon their return. Hopefully all can be comfortable soon. I do know what it feels like, I just feel happy about this artificial cooling device.

Looking at his size, I have a suspicion that one could be "Joel". He's been active around here the past few months.

Could it be Joel? He had to be a big shot, didn't he.

Eating without tipping is just wrong, and startling dining customers could cause a heart attack-ack-ack-ack. (He outta know by now.)

Might not be right, but sometimes, a bear's gotta do, what a bear's gotta do . . .

"Joel" . . . LOL . . . :joyfull:
