How was dinner? Leftover garlic breadsticks for tomorrow, I hope.

Mike says Happy Birthday too. He shares my FB, so he knows I’ve already extended our good wishes.
It was great. Good food and I sat with my grandkids and we had a very pleasant exchange of thoughts. I loved my kids and my Grandkids when they were little, but, I really enjoy them now that they are mostly young adults. I love listening to their dreams and aspirations, thoughts and observations. If we listen closely we can learn a lot from our younger generations, not necessarily our own kids because we will always be their parents, but, other then blood lines we have no attachment or expectations from or for the next generation. They impress the hell out of me.

Tell Mike thank you for me.

If you haven’t already, tell them that. I’m sure they’d love to hear it.

Yes, I made it a point tonight to let them know. I think it made them happy too. I'm not always grumpy and I want them to know that. However, that said, I love that commercial where the older lady is holding up a primitive drawing while on the phone and saying... "yea, I got it... What the hell is it?" That is also my kind of person. I'm very diverse.

That commercial is hilarious.

I’m not a tree hugger, but in the last few weeks I’ve made some significant conservation decisions.

After years of finding 2, 3, 4 half empty water bottles around the house every day, I finally quit buying water bottles a few weeks ago. We have a water cooler. We have refillable bottles. Use them.

I also bought a new co2 cartridge and stocked up on Sodastream and Torani syrups. I’m done buying cases of pop too.

I’ve been re-using straws for ages, simply because I seem to always have a sink full of hot soapy water at any given time.

Today, I figured out how to pop out the middle of the K-cups and have started recycling those too.

Now bring on those free Disney Ziploc bags. I’m in!

Good efforts, Jennifer. Interesting that you bought the Sodastream. I saw those in the store around Christmas, and didn't want one, because they weigh a ton. Then you also have to buy those co2 things (that's where the weight comes from). Too expensive as well, but I suppose if you have a family that drinks a lot of soda (sounds like the crew at your house does), it might be an o.k. option. We rarely drink soda here.

Back home for a couple of weeks at least. We have to go to Bethlehem PA on the 10th of August for the weekend, then we're back here fo a week or so, then back to VA, back home for a couple of days, then off to Yellowstone! The summer is flying by again...

PS - just noticed I missed @Goofyernmost 's birthday. Sorry - were traveling all day yesterday, so I was pretty much out of touch with the forums.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

The SodaStream was Ski’s Christmas gift at least 3+ years ago. I just recently pulled it out of the cabinet and bought a new co2 cartridge.

It now sits with the iced coffee set up.

And from further back, so I can show off my WDW themed trash can salt & pepper collection. 😉

Wow. That looks great!! (You also have a ton more rooms and space than we have, so something big like the Sodastream is a much better "fit" for your place.) I like how you display all those syrups on the table, too, with the little tree. You've always had an eye for "details".
