Well, he wasn't on the bus this morning when my daughter left for school camp. So he isn't here in any case. Hope you all are having luck finding where he isn't, too.

5 weeks today.
My hip was really bugging me today so Mike and I used the hot tub. While sitting there, I see one solitary solar light about 100’ feet away by the shed.
Me: Just one light?
Mike: For now.
Me: Is that where Holly is?
Mike: Yes. I don’t want her to be alone in the dark.

She was such a good dog. We all really miss her.

You figure today can just be D-Day and no one would make this day anything else.
You see, I was thinking the same thing, only with Applesauce Cake Day instead of D-Day. Applesauce Cake does not get the recognition it deserves.
This is the first time I've heard of applesauce cake.

Got up early this morning and headed straight down to Flamingo again.
Did some kayaking around the marina area, and into part of the Buttonwood Canal which flows into Flamingo. View attachment 288054
Only saw one crocodile pop up briefly, and no manatees. It was very HOT and humid today, with hardly any breeze unlike on Monday's visit.

I had originally planned on kayaking for several hours, but only lasted a little over one hour. It's just too hot today. Even the croc that I saw stayed at the surface for just under a minute before submerging again into the cool water. He/ she was like: "Forget this, and adieu to you."It was still nice and peaceful out on the water, but not something I'd recommend this time of year in south Fla without PLENTY of water.
Now back at the motel to cool off, change clothes, and head down to the Keys for the remainder of the day.
Edit: And don't make the same mistake I did, and only bring one 16 oz. bottle of water with you when you plan on kayaking in the Fla sun during the month of June.
Am I reading the above correctly? Did you go out on the water in a kayak with crocodiles visible, in the same area?!
