Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Sad day in the JenniferS household.

On Friday, I called to make arrangements to have the vet come to the house to put our beloved puppy down today. It was her half birthday today - born November 1, 2002.

I have been bawling my eyes out for days, but now that it’s done, I feel a bit better. She was such a good pup and I will miss her desperately. But for holidays, she has shared our bed every night for 15 1/2 years.

The vet assured me that the timing was perfect. We hadn’t waited too long; nor had we jumped the gun. Go figure, she jumped up on the couch all by herself today for the first time in weeks. Sigh.

Oh dear lord . . . so, so sorry for your loss. You gave her the best home and best life.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Every time we leave the house, we always tell Holly, “Okay pup, you’re in charge”.

We went to the grocery store about an hour ago, and as we’re locking the door, I say to Mike, “Now that Holly’s gone, who’s in charge?”

His answer. “Stitchie.”

He went on to say that he had this exact same conversation with Holly yesterday. 😢

Man, this sucks! I think we’re going to go for a walk in a bit. I’d best be bringing a bunch of tissues.

Little things like that are the hardest. And the thing is, you never stop thinking things like that. It just becomes less frequent, and you don't cry when you think it. But it's always better to remember than forget.

I’ve been on an Eagles kick since Saturday.
Isn't it funny how we get on a run of things like that? It seems every week I have a new song/artist I'm in love with. You always have your top 1 or 2, but I still go on streaks of different songs. For example, right now I'm big on that song I posted earlier (This is Me from The Greatest Showman). So good. Better live than the studio version.

So sorry about Holly, @JenniferS. It's always so hard to lose a pet. They really are part of the family. I truly do believe you'll see her again.
Thank you. I sent your mom a message thanking her for all her help. I wouldn’t have been able to make this difficult decision without her guidance.

I still feel like carp, but I know I made the right decision. For Holly; maybe not so much for me.

My mom loves The Boys of Summer.

I'd say my top three are Hotel California, Take It to the Limit and Peaceful Easy Feeling.

Don Henley is definitely my favorite as a solo artist. Boys of Summer is one of my favorite songs ever although the drum machine irks me. You're a drummer. Drum. I know the backstory and all - but still. Drum. One of the coolest things I have ever seen is the Eagles playing Hotel California live and Don Henley sitting at the drum kit and singing. As someone who can't walk and chew gum at the same time (heck - walking is an issue at times) - I was blown away by his raw talent.
