No concert for us this trip either.
Next time, I’m going to get Billy Joel tickets FIRST, and then plan the trip around that. Billy Joel at MSG is on Mike’s Bucket List.


JP2’s first World Youth Day attracted 20K people in 1979. His last in Toronto in 2002, attracted 850K.
I remember when they announced his passing. Even after days of knowing it was immininent, I had to close my office at work, and weep.


I tried so hard to get an angle that reduced the glare. Trust me, this was the cream of the crop.

I loved Ali. The greatest fighter that ever lived, bar none.


And then they tore the sucker down.

By design, we did not set our alarm last night, choosing to wake up when we wake up.
Brekkie closed at 9:30, so it looks like we’ll be having Starbuckies and Cinnabon. Life is good.

Mike is still sleeping, so I have control of the remote for the first time this trip. I am watching Live with Kelly and Ryan and their guest is discussing The Last Jedi, which she has seen.

Time for me to get dressed and go down to get us some coffee. When I get back, I’m sure ESPN will be on. Again.

Never in my life have I ever laid in a hotel bed and gazed out our window. But this view ....

Except for sleeping, we haven’t closed our drapes once. We can actually see the Times Square ball. I can’t imagine what this room rents for New Year’s Eve.

Mike is geeking out again, as he has just figured out that he can see the Intrepid from our window.

I know I’m cheap, and the cost of this room keeps me up at night; but dang, I think it is almost worth it just for how much Mike is enjoying it.

Headed back to Sak’s for pics I missed, Trump Tower (to get chocolate stocking stuffers), Carmine’s for lunch, Macy’s for that teddy bear, AMC for Titanic, and yup ... probably street meat for a late dinner.

Directly across from CP, a block or two west of the Plaza lives Lady Gaga, waaaaay up there in the Penthouse. She didn’t wave back.

The POTUS also did not wave back, but he’s not in town this trip, so I’m not taking it personally.



We bought what are purported to be the last 5 Trump bars in the store. No more coming until the New Year. Apparently everyone thinks they would make great stocking stuffers.

I did, however, buy these Swarovski tree ornaments at Rockefeller Plaza.


I’ll balance it out by buying a handful of cheapie ornaments at Macy’s tomorrow. (We didn’t make it there today, figuring we have to pass right by on our way to Penn Station tomorrow.)

Lunch at Carmine’s on 44th. Everything is served “family style”, so we were advised by our server to order just one app and one entree. Problem is, Mike wanted both Caesar salad AND deep fried rubber bands.



Cheese makes everything better, although this was pretty amazing to start.


At least I know what we’re having for dinner after the show. Starts with “l”, and ends with “eftovers”.
